The University of Indonesia has unveiled the annual 2021 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. It presents higher education institutions from around the world, which implement "green" solutions and innovations. Poltava Polytechnic took the 8th place in the ranking among Ukrainian higher education institutions.
National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" has been included in the international ranking of UI GreenMetric since 2017 and occupies high positions in the ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions, and this year the University was awarded "Ecooskar" for significant achievements in the environmental transformation of the state, business and society.
UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is an initiative of the University of Indonesia, which ranks universities around the world in terms of campus environmental friendliness, taking into account key criteria, including: the introduction of environmental education components in the learning process, energy efficiency projects, universities’ policy on rational consumption and energy savings, rational use of water resources, storage and recycling of waste, assessment of the area of greenery on the territory, etc. The ranking is aimed at promoting academic discourses on sustainability in education and greening of campuses, social change related to the university, taking into account the goals of sustainable development, self-assessment of campus sustainability for universities around the world, informing government, international and local environmental institutions and society about sustainable development programs on campus.
An important step towards social change was the opening of new educational programs – from now on, Poltava Polytechnic will prepare specialists in the field of "green" energy.
Earlier, scientists of Poltava Polytechnic and stakeholders named the eco-professions of the future and presented up-to-date technologies for overcoming environmental problems.
