Poltava Polytechnic Expands Cooperation with Romania: Results of the Working Visit to Bucharest

A delegation from the Poltava Polytechnic made a vital working visit to the capital of Romania, during which it held a series of fruitful meetings with representatives of two leading institutions of higher education – POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. The key goal of the visit was to expand opportunities for academic mobility within the Erasmus+ program and to discuss the prospects for implementing double-degree programs.

Poltava Polytechnic Expands Cooperation with Romania: Results of the Working Visit to Bucharest

The National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” continues to actively develop international partnership relations, which are a key element of integration into the European educational space.

A fruitful working visit by the Poltava Polytechnic delegation to Bucharest (Romania) recently took place, aimed at expanding cooperation with leading Romanian institutions of higher education.

The delegation included Anna Pavelieva – Coordinator of International Activities, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation, and Nataliia Bondar – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of General Linguistics and Foreign Languages.

Representatives of Poltava Polytechnic visited the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest (UPB), one of the most prestigious technical institutions in Romania, which is the largest and oldest technical university in the country, founded in 1818. It is known as a leading centre of innovation in engineering, IT, and applied sciences, preparing highly qualified specialists for the most critical sectors of the Romanian and European economies.

During the meeting, greetings and gifts were conveyed from the leadership of Poltava Polytechnic – President Volodymyr ONYSHCHENKO and Rector Olena FILONYCH.

The university representatives met with Oana Daniela BUGAN, Head of the Office for Student Mobility and Cooperation Agreements at the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest.

The discussion focused on cooperation within the Erasmus+ program and on expanding mobility opportunities for faculty, students, and postgraduate students. They also discussed the development of double-degree programs that will allow students from both universities to obtain diplomas from both partner institutions, thereby significantly increasing their competitiveness in the international labour market.

As part of the visit, the Poltava Polytechnic representatives also held a series of meetings with representatives of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), a leading Romanian educational institution in economics and business. ASE has an international reputation, preparing elite personnel in finance, management, and marketing, and regularly ranks among the top 500 in the world in the specialisation "Economics."

Our representatives had the honour of speaking with Professor Liviu-Adrian COTFAS, PhD. – Director of the Department of International Relations; Professor Mirela Ionela ACELEANU, PhD (dr habil) – Director of the Doctoral School Council; and Mihai Orzan – Professor of Online Marketing.

The main topic of discussion was potential cooperation within the Erasmus+ program. The parties considered opportunities to organise academic mobility for faculty, students, and postgraduate students, enabling both universities to exchange experience and best practices in educational and scientific fields.

The working visit to Bucharest became an essential step in expanding and deepening cooperation with Romanian universities in the field of education and science. The agreements reached regarding the Erasmus+ academic mobility programs, as well as the initiation of negotiations on double-degree programs, testify to the strong interest of both parties in creating new opportunities for Ukrainian and Romanian students and faculty. Poltava Polytechnic confirmed its strategic goal: active integration into the European educational space, strengthening its international presence, and improving the quality of specialist training in accordance with global standards.

As a reminder, faculty members of Poltava Polytechnic are eligible to participate in academic mobility and internship programs. Students can study abroad through Erasmus+ credit academic mobility grant programs for a semester or a full academic year at leading universities in Austria, Greenland, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, and the Czech Republic.
