Poltava Polytechnic hosts an interregional scientific and methodical seminar dedicated to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among young people

For the International Olympic Day, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” conducted the Interregional Scientific and Methodological Seminar “Formation of a healthy lifestyle in pupils and student youth by means of physical culture and sports”. The participants of the event presented thorough reports dedicated to the introduction and popularization of a healthy lifestyle.

Traditionally, on June 22 – 23, 2023, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held the III Interregional Scientific and Methodological Seminar “Formation of a healthy lifestyle in pupils and student youth by means of physical culture and sports”. The Youth and Sports Department of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Izmail State University of Humanities, Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University, Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University as well as other institutions and organizations of a sports profile acted as co-organizers of the powerful scientific and educational event.

The participants of the seminar were solemnly greeted by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olena Stepova, the Head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Maryna Trokhymenko and the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the Poltava Polytechnic, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, who wished the participants fruitful work, interesting performances and scientific discussions.

On the first day of the seminar, plenary and sectional meetings were held, to which participants from Hlukhiv, Izmail, Kropyvnytskyi, Kharkiv and other regions joined in the format of a video conference. The event was moderated by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Larysa Onishchuk.

The following reports aroused special interest among the participants: Oksana Bashtovenko “Increasing the index of inclusion in physical education and sports” (Izmail State University of Humanities); Nataliia Khlus “Formation of a healthy lifestyle in children of older preschool age” (Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University); Oleksandr Ivanov “Implementation of measures for the physical activity of broad segments of the population” (Poltava Regional Center for Physical Health of the Population “Sports for All”); Vitalii Pavlov “History of the development of cycling: origins, modernity, prospects” (Department of Culture, Youth and Family of the Executive Committee of the Poltava City Council); Vladyslav Safonov “Formation of a healthy lifestyle in student youth by means of physical education and sports” (Poltava Sports Lyceum of the Poltava Regional Council).

The speeches of Tetiana Trykoz “From the work experience of the Sports School on the development of sports in the Poltava region” (Municipal Institution “Zinkiv Specialized Children’s and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Handball Reserve named after V. P. Litvishko of the Poltava Regional Council”); the master’s student of the group 501-FS Kateryna Bezzubenko “All-Ukrainian Physical Culture and Sports Society “Kolos” of the Poltava district of the Poltava region: history, modernity, prospects”; Master of Sports of the International Class in kayaking and canoeing, winner of the European Cup and the World Cup, master’s student of the 502-mFS group Oleh Borovyk “Traditions of the development of kayaking and canoeing in the Poltava region” and a physical therapy doctor, a physical rehabilitator of the 2nd city clinical hospital of the Poltava city council Posternak S. P. “Scandinavian walking as an effective means of recovery” were meaningful and informative.

The next day, June 23, the International Olympic Day, the participants of the seminar visited the sports facilities and training classes of the Sport Schools of Poltava.

Previously, a university student became the top scorer of the First League of the Ukrainian Women’s Football Championship, Poltava Polytechnic students became the silver and bronze medallists of the XXXII European Armwrestling Championship, and the university team became the gold medallist of the All-Ukrainian competition among scientific and pedagogical staff of HEI in billiards sports “Dynamic pyramid – Solo” – Siniakevych Cup.
