Poltava Polytechnic is a driver of promoting the university’s educational brand in the international space

At the meeting of Academic Council of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the results of the university’s international activities in the sphere of youth exchanges and Erasmus+ academic mobility programmes were presented by International Cooperation Coordinator, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Anna Pavelieva.

In the academic year 2023/2024, Poltava Polytechnic continues to be a driver of promoting the university’s educational brand internationally, as more than 70 students and academic staff of Poltava Polytechnic became participants of Erasmus+ mobility programmes at the leading universities of the world.

At a meeting of the Academic Board, the Coordinator of International Cooperation, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Anna Pavelieva presented the impressive results of international activities of Poltava Polytechnic in the field of youth exchanges and academic mobility programmes under the Erasmus+ programme.

The figures presented in the constructive speech speak for themselves: during the spring semester of academic year 2023/2024, 18 academic staff members and 39 students of Poltava Polytechnic became participants of Erasmus+ mobility programmes KA 131 and KA 171 at universities in Austria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and Germany.

The total amount of Erasmus+ grants for the spring semester of the 2023/24 academic year was about EUR 231,500 or UAH 10,096,002.46.

The total number of participants of different mobility programmes is 79 people (Erasmus+, DAAD, CEEPUS, scholarships from the EU governments).

The community of Poltava Polytechnic has successfully implemented the second stage of DAAD project “Bologna Hub Peer Support II” (2022-2024), having conducted 2 advisory missions. As part of the project, Anna Pavelieva gave an interview to the German scientific journal DAAD Journal and recorded a podcast (Platforms: Spotify, Apple, Deezer, Podcast Index, Podcast Addict, Podchaser).

10 students from different structural subdivisions became participants of the Polish-Ukrainian exchange programme “Study tours to Poland” in the cities of Toruń, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Warsaw, Bielsko-Biała, and Łódź. A student and a university employee received scholarships to participate in the Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies in the Czech Republic.

The delegation of Polytechnic and Poltava College of Oil and Gas took part in ICAMES 2024 (International Cultural and Academic Meeting of Engineering Students) in Istanbul, Turkey, in May, 2024.

The teacher and 2 students took part in the international event “Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2024” in Warsaw. Significant international achievements of the university’s students and researchers can be found on the university’s official website.

According to the speaker, the following Erasmus+ CBHE project applications have been submitted for consideration: ERASMUS-SPORT (2 applications), Erasmus+ KA 220 (2 applications, one of which – TRUST – has already been approved by the European Commission, Virtual Exchange Project, numerous applications for international activity programmes KA 131, KA 171).

The project “Solar Workforce Development for Ukraine” was also submitted for the competition (applicant: The Rotary Club of Kyiv-Capital, Ukraine, The Rotary Club of Babcock Ranch, Florida, USA).

Students of Poltava Polytechnic will continue their studies at leading European universities in the next semester, which is an undoubted recognition of the level of quality educational services provided by Poltava Polytechnic.

Recently, four female students of Polytechnic have completed their studies under the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme at the “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad in Romania, a female student of Polytechnic has become a participant of the Polish-Ukrainian youth exchange under the Erasmus+ programme, and two female students of Polytechnic have completed their studies under the Erasmus+ programme at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences.
