The Center for International Projects "EuroEducation" in partnership with the international group of experts IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence has published the results of the seventeenth independent academic ranking of higher education institutions of Ukraine "TOP-200 Ukraine 2023".
Over the past year, the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" improved its position by 8 rating steps, taking 46th place among Ukrainian universities. For the third year in a row, Poltava Polytechnic is the leader among higher education institutions of the city of Poltava in the seventeenth academic ranking "TOP-200 Ukraine 2023".
The activities of the Center for International Projects "EuroEducation" are primarily aimed at the development, testing and implementing in Ukraine the principles of international expertise and the system of rating evaluation of higher educational institutions (HEIs) using the methods accumulated by UNESCO.
The criteria for this year's ranking were the modern trends in the development of universities, summarized by the IREG International Conference (IREG 2019 Conference, Bologna, Italy, May 8-10, 2019) and the Berlin Principles, approved by the participants of the second IREG meeting (Berlin, Germany, May 18-20, 2006 year), as well as the work of other international conferences.

The indicators of the 17th annual academic ranking of higher education institutions of Ukraine "TOP-200 Ukraine 2023" are based on three basic principles, according to which the activity of universities as innovative scientific and educational centers of the country is evaluated:
- ensuring openness, transparency, objectivity and independence of university ranking. For this, only open data of direct measurements, published on the web resources of independent national and international organizations and institutions, were used;
- taking into account the comprehensiveness and multifaceted activities of universities. For this purpose, their activity was evaluated on the broadest base of indicators in comparison with known rating systems;
- priority of European integration processes. University ranking methodologies involve the use of large amounts of data (summarized over several years) on a broad base of many important indicators to determine the performance of universities and their current position.
The methodology for calculating university rankings is available to the public to verify the obtained results. Any data or expert evaluations of the universities themselves and their management bodies were not used.
It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic recently took the position 1001+ in the international academic ranking of The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023 and became an active member of the European University Association.
