Poltava Polytechnic is included in the ranking of the best world universities

QS Quacquarelli Symonds Research Center has published a ranking of universities QS EECA University Rankings 2022. The ranking of the best Eurasian universities includes the only Poltava University – National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”

According to the results of 2020-2021 activities, the university for the first time in its history was included in one of the most authoritative international university rankings – QS EECA University Rankings 2022. The university has occupied high positions among more than three thousand higher education institutions of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The strongest indicator of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, according to Quacquarelli Symonds, is its team – scientific and pedagogical staff with a PhD degree and above. Also high positions in the ranking are awarded for academic reputation, reputation among employers, international activities, popularity among foreign students, student contingent and research activities.

“It was a persistent path, but entering the world rankings was provided by the university's development program from 2017. Every year we have raised the bar of achievements, done a lot and, thus, our results are reflected among the world's leading universities. We are among the top 400 universities in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Hungary, Croatia and the Czech Republic and are among the top 30 best universities in Ukraine. This achievement confirms the effectiveness of large-scale activities of Poltava Polytechnic, the professionalism of the administrative team and the whole staff,” – commented the rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

In total, 41 higher education institutions of Ukraine were included in the ranking.

QS EECA University Rankings is compiled by the British consulting company Quacquarelli Symonds, which specializes in education and studying abroad. It was first published in 2014. In general, in the QS EECA ranking, the activity of universities is assessed according to 10 criteria, which make up a certain share of the overall assessment: academic reputation (30%), reputation among employers (20%), the ratio between scientific and pedagogical staff and students (10%), the number of publications per employee (10%), international scientific relations (10%), the influence of the university on the Internet (5%), the share of employees with a PhD (5%), the number of citations per article (5%), the share of foreign employees (2.5%) and the share of foreign students (2.5%).

In the spring, Polytechnic entered the top 10 Ukrainian universities in the most influential ranking of universities in the world, was recognized as the best university in Poltava in terms of scientific activity according to the SciVerse Scopus database and took first place among universities in Poltava region in webometric ranking of universities.
