Poltava Polytechnic signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with JSC Ukrtransgaz

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, represented by Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, and JSC Ukrtransgaz, represented by Director General Roman Maliutin, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the Educational and Technical Field. The partners will work together to improve the quality of higher oil and gas education in Ukraine and train specialists in the key areas of the company’s strategic development.

During the official meeting, Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and Director General of JSC Ukrtransgaz Roman Maliutin signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the Educational and Technical Field. The partners also discussed the main tasks of implementing the Memorandum of Cooperation in improving higher oil and gas education in Ukraine and training specialists in key specialities necessary for the strategic development of JSC Ukrtransgaz.

According to the Rector of this multidisciplinary classical university, which provides excellent training for professionals for the oil and gas industry of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, it is very important for students to have a strong motivation to study. One of such motivations is the possibility of internships and practice at companies that have experienced specialists and can potentially hire a graduate of Poltava Polytechnic.

“We are working together to ensure the energy security of Ukraine! We are creating conditions for the energy independence of our country!” – emphasised Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

“Already at the stage of studies, we are ready to invite students to internships, they will have the opportunity to meet professionals in the gas industry and work with them side by side. We plan to invite the best graduates to work, which will contribute to the development of the industry and the company,” – said the Director General of Ukrtransgaz Roman Maliutin.

The signed Memorandum envisages a multilateral partnership, including the participation of the company’s representatives in the development of curricula and educational programmes, internships and practical training for students of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas, the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics, the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management of Poltava Polytechnic, and the university’s structural subdivision, Poltava College of Oil and Gas.

It should be noted that JSC Ukrtransgaz is a leading natural gas transmission and storage company in Ukraine, which owns 12 underground gas storage facilities located throughout Ukraine. Their total capacity is 31 billion cubic metres, which is equal to the total volume of underground gas storage facilities in Italy, France, Hungary and Austria. Such capacities provide Ukraine with significant opportunities to attract gas storage customers, including European ones.

It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the largest upstream company in Ukraine.

Recently, SPE networking meeting dedicated to snubbing technologies was held at Polytechnic, and the Association of Drillers of Ukraine held a round table on the occasion of its professional holiday dedicated to the rational development of subsoil and personnel training.

Earlier, scientists of Poltava Polytechnic held a series of trainings for Ukrtransnafta specialists, students of ERI of Oil and Gas attended an open lecture by DTEK Oil&Gas’ top manager for occupational health and safety, and DTEK Oil&Gas employees held a comprehensive sports competition at the university.
