Poltava Polytechnic students pay a working visit to the Poltava Regional Military Administration

Students of the “Public Management and Administration”, “Law”, “Finance, Banking and Insurance” and “Accounting and Taxation” specialties of the Poltava Polytechnic held a working meeting with the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin and the Head of the Standing Committee on Education, Science and Culture of the Poltava Regional Council Oleh Didenko of the Regional Council. Future professionals received answers to the most pressing questions.

On June 22, 2023, within the framework of cooperation between the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and the Poltava Regional Military Administration, a meeting of students of specialties 281 “Public Management and Administration”, 081 “Law”, 072 “Finance, Banking and Insurance” and 071 “Accounting and Taxation” of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” with the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin and the Head of the Standing Committee on Education, Science and Culture of the Poltava Regional Council Oleh Didenko.

During the meeting, students of the Poltava Polytechnic had a unique opportunity to communicate with representatives of the government’s executive branch, to discuss topical issues related to the role of executive authorities in the post-war reconstruction of the Poltava region. Dmytro Lunin told future specialists about the structure of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, focusing on the key activity areas – education, medicine, volunteering and other ones related to the support and development of the Poltava Region as well as other regions. Also, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration shared strategic plans for ensuring stable economic growth, improving the quality of life of citizens and attracting investments to the region.

Dmytro Serhiiovych noted that the Poltava region showed active support and solidarity with the neighbouring regions, in particular Sumy and Kherson regions, which suffered as a result of the military aggression of the russian federation. Various forms of assistance have been provided, including humanitarian aid, medical equipment and medical personnel, as well as support for economic restructuring and infrastructure reconstruction. Further cooperation and support between regions become an important element in strengthening territorial integrity and restoring peaceful life in the affected areas. Discussion of this topic at a meeting with students shows the need for constant support and cooperation between regions to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.

In addition, students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss ideas with Dmytro Serhiiovych regarding the development and reconstruction of the Poltava region. The meeting became a platform for active interaction between students and the Head of the Administration, where the exchange of ideas and perspectives contributed to the search for new ways of development and improvement of the situation in the region.

In particular, the issue of education was brought up during the conversation. Dmytro Lunin noted that this is an important issue, since ensuring the safety of students and employees of educational institutions is a priority, expressing an opinion about the importance of offline learning and continuing to create bomb shelters in educational institutions, which will allow studying even in case of air threats.

Particular attention was paid to the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, which became the first higher education institution in the Poltava region that returned to studies in the usual format. According to Oleh Didenko, this testifies to the high level of organizational work and the university's ability to adapt to the difficult conditions of the military state in the country.

Also, during the meeting, students raised the issue of the agricultural sector. The discussion of this field shows the importance of the development of agriculture for the Poltava region. Dmytro Lunin expressed his interest and desire to involve drones in agricultural work in the region. The head of the Poltava RMA noted that the use of drones can significantly facilitate and make such processes as monitoring the state of crops, inspecting fields, distributing fertilizers and plant protection, as well as detecting the level of soil moisture, much easier and more efficient. As a matter of fact, graduates of the Poltava Polytechnic are actively involved in the development of innovative products, including those for military needs.

Also, the students had a unique opportunity to be present during the solemn event – the transfer of 10 cars for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council Oleksandr Bilenkyi and the deputy corps of the Poltava Regional Council. The important step taken shows the support and recognition of the importance of the contribution of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to ensuring the country’s security and defence capability.

For the students, this event was an important and unforgettable experience, as they had the opportunity to be with the participants of the car transfer as well as imbued with the spirit of patriotism and support from the local authorities.

At the end of the meeting, the students had a valuable opportunity to talk with the First Deputy Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council, Oleksandr Lemeshko, who shared his tremendous practical experience.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss pressing issues and receive valuable advice from an experienced politician. Such interactive communication contributed to broadening the horizons of young people, deepening their understanding of political processes, and gave them the opportunity to gain new insights.

Altogether, the meeting of the students of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” with the Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin and other representatives of the authorities of the Poltava Region was successful and productive.

This meeting became a platform for important dialogues, discussion of topical issues and joint search for solutions for the further development of the region. The interaction between students and representatives of the authorities contributed to the formation of a constructive dialogue, the development of positive motivation among those receiving higher education to study and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Previously, future public managers took part in training dedicated to employment in the state authorities of Ukraine, a round table was held at the university dedicated to the first anniversary of Ukraine’s ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Domestic Violence, a delegation from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv paid a working visit to Poltava Polytechnic.
