On October 23 in the city of Poltava, the competition of the Poltava Region Championships in freestyle wrestling among male and female cadets U-17 was held, in which about 120 female and male athletes of the Poltava region became active participants. Boys and girls demonstrated a high level of physical fitness, presented the audience with spectacular matches, fierce rivalry and a flurry of positive emotions.
First-year student of specialty 133 “Industrial Machinery Engineering” of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Denys Kolenko won the silver medal of the Poltava Region Championships in freestyle wrestling among male and female cadets U-17. The Polytechnic athlete demonstrated high results in fierce confrontations with experienced opponents and became the best in the 71 kg weight category among cadets less than 17 years of age.
According to the results obtained, the Poltava Polytechnic athlete was selected for the national team and will take part in the Championships of Ukraine among male and female cadets, scheduled for the end of November 2022 in the Ukrainian capital.

Previously, the athletes of the Polytechnic became the prize-winners of the All-Ukrainian kettlebell sports tournament “Pereiaslavska Autumn-2022”, freshman Vladyslav Shavyro won the gold medal of the Open Taekwondo Tournament “Pokalturnier Bretten”, the cheerleaders of the Polytechnic became the prize-winners of the Poltava Championships, and the university students became the gold medalists of the Football Championships of Ukraine among athletes with hearing impairment.
