Athletes of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” joined the National Team of Ukraine and became participants in the European Universities Games, which will be held from July 14 to 30 in the Republic of Poland. The participants of the competition have already arrived in the Polish city of Łódź, where they will compete for European awards during the table tennis and kickboxing tournaments.
The university picked table tennis team includes:
- Denys Shcherbak, student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- Dmytro Lebid, student of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technology and Robotics;
- Andrii Vynokhodov, student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- Maksym Ovcharenko, student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- Andrii Chermenskyi, teacher of the Department of Physical Education.
Representatives of the kickboxing picked team are:
- Mykhailo Serdiuk, student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management;
- Anthony Jirkins, a student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management.
The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet wished the Ukrainian National Team great sports achievements and positive emotions: “Dear participants of the European Universities Games, I am proud that you will represent our state and the universities of Ukraine in the largest European student competitions, which will be held in the city of Lodz in the Republic of Poland. The unique format of the games provides an opportunity to show the sports level of European universities, since 5,000 students from 40 countries will take part in the competition, and Ukraine will be represented by 234 students from 45 higher education institutions who will compete in 16 sports – badminton, basketball, 3x3 basketball, water polo, volleyball, beach volleyball, handball, judo, karate, kickboxing, table tennis, taekwondo, beach handball, football, futsal, chess. You are going to the competition at a difficult time for the country, and I am sure that our sports student body will be well represented at the European Games and will show high results! I wish you success, bright sports victories and pleasant communication with students of European universities! Together to victory! Glory to Ukraine”. The head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine also thanked the European Federation of Student Sports and personally its president Adam Rochek for all the support and the opportunity given to Ukrainian students to take part in these prestigious competitions.

It should be recalled that three university students and a college student will receive nominal scholarships of the Poltava City Council.
Previously, the Polytechnic team “Not Today” won the regional esports tournament RectorsCyberCup’22.
