On February 16, for the second time, scientific and pedagogical workers, employees, students of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" and cadets of the Department of Military Training gathered to celebrate the national holiday – Unity Day, initiated by the Decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi "On urgent measures to consolidate Ukrainian society" dated February 14, 2022 No. 53/2022.

The festive event began with a patriotic flash mob – a human chain was formed in front of the central building and the participants of the flash mob unfurled the 150-meter State Flag as a symbol of boundless love for the native land, as a personification of the fact that during this difficult year we have changed, grown spiritually in a common desire to unite and give a worthy rebuff to the russian aggressor.

"Dear colleagues, scientists, students! Dear Ukrainians! Already today, each of us is writing a new page in the history of our courageous and independent, peaceful and open country to the European world. Right now, in the era of active information wars, hostile manipulations and fakes, when a non-peaceful neighbor is mercilessly trying to destroy our national identity, destroying our cities and villages, killing small children, women and the elderly, Ukrainian society is becoming much stronger.

The symbolic significance of this holiday is growing – even in the conditions of the martial law introduced, constant air raids alarms, blackouts and missile threats, hundreds of eyes look with sadness at the state blue-yellow flag, which flies proudly in the February sky, becoming a kind of amulet of our indomitability, courage and fortitude.

Our glorious predecessors bequeathed to us a unique culture, free-loving and good nature, willingness to unite under any circumstances. We will not betray their trust and we will not back down a single step!

Poltava Polytechnic continues to confidently hold the scientific-educational, volunteer and humanitarian front, and the young students and graduates of the university clearly understand the historical mission entrusted to them, which is to work conscientiously for the restoration and post-war reconstruction of our country. We are united in our common desire to defeat the enemy and make Ukraine free and prosperous!

Ukraine is united! Glory to Ukraine!" – congratulated the rector of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Professor, Lieutenant Colonel in reserve Volodymyr Onyshchenko

The final ceremony took place at the most patriotic university location. The honorable mission of raising the State Flag on the territory of the university was carried out by a defender – a participant in hostilities, a graduate of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management in 2015, a graduate of the Department of Military Training in 2014, Captain Artem Derevianko.

"We thank our Armed Forces for the opportunity to continue to do our job perfectly, ensuring the provision of quality educational services to young people. Glory to those who defend our territorial integrity at the cost of their own lives, striving to return the long-awaited peace to our land! Glory to Ukraine!" – thanked the rector.

It should be recalled that last year the Polytechnic celebrated the Day of Unity with a solemn rally and a patriotic flash mob.

Recently, on the anniversary of the death of Dmytro Koriak, the memory of the deceased graduate was honored at the Polytechnic, and university students learned about the historical origins of Ukrainian unity and met with a participant in the hostilities.
