Polytechnic cheerleaders win the awards of the Cheerleading Championship of Ukraine among Schoolchildren and Students

Students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” won the awards of the Cheerleading Championship of Ukraine among Schoolchildren and Students, which was held in Lviv. The best athletes will represent Ukraine at the European Championships to be held in Oslo, Norway this summer.

Polytechnic cheerleaders win the awards of the Cheerleading Championship of Ukraine among Schoolchildren and Students

From 10 to 12 May 2024, the Cheerleading Championship of Ukraine among Schoolchildren and Students took place in Lviv at the “Bosko Arena” sports club. More than 1500 representatives of 53 sports clubs from 14 regions of our country and the city of Kyiv competed for the championship and sets of honorary awards. According to the organisers, the Cheerleading Championship of Ukraine was a dress rehearsal for the XII European Championship, which will take place in June 2024 in Oslo, Norway.

During three intense days, members of the highly professional judging panel determined the winners and prize-winners in the following nominations: “hip-hop team”, “hip-hop quartet”, “hip-hop duet”, “jazz team”, “jazz duet”, “jazz quartet” and “group standard”. Based on the results of the competition, the best cheerleaders of Ukraine will perform at a prestigious sports tournament in Oslo as part of the national team.

Students of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” successfully performed at the Cheerleading Championship of Ukraine among Schoolchildren and Students, adding several more medals to their tally:

  • I place – “hip-hop quartet” (Danylo Shumeiko, student of academic group 101-FR of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports);
  • III place – “hip-hop quartet” (Anastasiia Holub, student of academic group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports);
  • I place – “jazz team” (Yelyzaveta Sorokina, student of group 103-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports) as part of the National Team of Ukraine, which will represent the country in the JUNIOR JAZZ category at the European Championships in the summer of 2024 in the Norwegian city of Oslo.

The athletes are under the coaching of Master of Sports of Ukraine in Cheerleading, Candidate of Science in Physical Education, Associate Professor of the Department of Choreography and Dance Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Tetiana Synytsia.

Recently, the Open Workout Tournament was held on the Polytechnic premises, the defenders won the charity Ukrainian Billiards Championship among the university academic staff, and the students and graduates of the university became the winners of the European Para Swimming Championship.
