Polytechnic first-year students become prize-winners and participants of the 5th WKB European Weight Category Championship

Students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Andrii Berezin and Andrii Nazimov represented our country at the 5th WKB European Weight Category Championship, which was held in the city of Dębica (Republic of Poland).

Polytechnic first-year students become prize-winners and participants of the 5th WKB European Weight Category Championship

On November 12-13, 2022, the 5th WKB European Weight Category Championship took place in the city of Dębica (Republic of Poland), where 673 athletes from 17 countries of the world fought for the title of the best one. Young people demonstrated spectacular confrontations and excellent physical form, and highly professional judges determined the winners and prize-winners in different age categories.

Students of academic group 102-FS, specialty 017 “Physical Culture and Sports” of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Andrii Berezin and Andrii Nazimov, as part of the national team, represented our country at prestigious international competitions. The treasury of important personal achievements of the Poltava Polytechnic athletes was replenished with another gold medal, which testifies to the high level of physique and the result of hard training of the young men.

As a result of the competition, Poltava Polytechnic students became the best in the following age categories:

  • Andrii Berezin won the gold medal in the 16-17 age category;
  • Andrii Nazimov took an honorable fourth place in the 18+ age category.

Congratulations to the athletes with new important achievements of the international level! We are proud of you, we wish you good health, sports enthusiasm and inspiration in conquering new peaks of the sports Olympus!

Previously, Polytechnic cheerleaders won gold and silver medals at the Kyiv Open Championships, Polytechnic student Nikita Solovei was awarded by the Poltava community for high achievements in sports, Polytechnic athletes won the Open Cup of the Poltava region in classical powerlifting, became volunteers and participants of the “Autumn RUN-2022” marathon, the Polytechnic team became the champion of the 18th Universiade of the Poltava region in volleyball, and Polytechnic teacher won the bronze medal of the Ukrainian Karate Championship among adults.
