During November 7, 2022, the finals of the World Para Table Tennis Championships were held in Granada, Spain, where high sporting achievements were demonstrated by a graduate of the specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports" of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", European champion in 2017 and 2019, bronze medalist 2021 Paralympics in Tokyo Ivan Mai. The athlete won the gold medal of the prestigious international competition and, together with the representative of Zaporizhzhia, Lev Katz, became the 2022 world champion in table tennis. A pair of Ukrainians beat the British Ross Wilson and Joshua Stacey with a score of 3:0 in the decisive match.
