On August 30, Yurii Bozhynskyi, teamed with Denys Dubrov, Andrii Trusov and Maksym Kripak, competed in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay. Ukrainian athletes finished with a time of 3:47.40. The first were the Australians (time – 3:44.31), the second were the Italians (time – 3:45.89). This is the first Paralympic award in this type of relay in the history of Ukraine.
“Master of Sport of International Class of Ukraine in swimming, bronze medalist of the 2013 World Championship, European champion of 2014, two-time silver medalist and bronze medalist of the 2015 World Championship, two-time silver (4x100 m relay, 100 m backstroke) and bronze (50 m freestyle) winner of the European Championship 2016, Paralympic champion and winner of 2016 – these are all achievements and titles of our graduate Yurii Bozhynskyi.

Student of Poltava College of Oil and Gas of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Denys Ostapchenko has won a silver medal in men’s 50m backstroke – S3, which became the 40th award for Ukraine.
Second-year student at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Oleksii Virchenko has also won a silver medal in men’s 100m butterfly – S13.
Graduate of Physical Culture and Sports specialization of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Yevhenii Bohodaiko has won gold medal in men’s 100m breaststroke – SB6, returning the Ukrainian team to the top 10 teams in the medal standings.
Graduate of Physical Culture and Sports specialization of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Ivan Mai has won a bronze award, bringing Ukraine the first medal in table tennis at the Paralympics in Tokyo.
