The final part of the International Program "Scientific Elite of Ukraine", which aimed at presenting the image of home scientific achievements by researchers in various fields, ended with the solemn awarding of 100 best scientists of Ukraine.
"We recently celebrated World Science Day. And today the solemn awards ceremony took place within the framework of the International Program "Scientific Elite of Ukraine". In the House of Official Receptions of the Office of the President of Ukraine People gathered people for whom their profession is a vocation, a business without which they cannot imagine their lives.
According to the opinion polls, two-thirds of Ukrainians trust scientists the most. It seems to me that the most important task of scientists today is to convert this trust into the country's success," – commented Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Northeastern Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Ukrainian Federation of Scientists Volodymyr Semynozhenko. He presented the decorations together with the Chairman of the Committee on Rule of Law of the Ukrainian National Bar Association Maryna Stavniichuk.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, heads of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, people’s deputies of Ukraine, foreign scientists.
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Acting Head of the Department of Drilling and Geology of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Yurii Vynnykov was awarded the Order "Scientist of the Year – 2021", Diploma for outstanding achievements and personal contribution to the development of science of Ukraine as well as the Book of Honor "Scientific Elite of Ukraine".
The event was supported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Science, Education and Innovation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Federation of Scientists, the Union of Educators of Ukraine, higher education institutions as well as other state structures and public associations.
It should be recalled that the rector of the Polytechnic took part in a meeting of the Council of the Northeastern Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on global climate change and ways to preserve Ukrainian forests.
