The university lost an experienced and highly qualified specialist, an authoritative scientist – Roman Semenovych Yaremiichuk has passed away. Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, full member and Vice-President of the NGO Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (2008) was one of the leading scientists of Ukraine in the field of engineering and drilling technology.
The life path of Roman Semenovych is an example of integrity and professionalism. Roman Semenovych was born on November 19, 1936 in the village of Zibranivka of the Sniatynskyi district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. After graduating from the Oil Faculty of the Lviv Polytechnic Institute, he devoted himself to scientific activities.
Roman Yaremiichuk is the author of more than 60 books (monographs, bilingual dictionaries, textbooks, course books, reference books). The scientific achievements of the scientist include more than 300 scientific articles, 167 inventions (author's certificates, patents of Ukraine, Argentina, Czechoslovakia, and other countries), as well as more than 130 publications in newspapers and magazines of Ukraine.
His most important works are devoted to the strength and deformation of the walls of wells, the technology of development of wells with the creation of multiple instantaneous depressions and repressions on the formation with the help of jet devices (these technologies and equipment have become serial in russia, Ukraine and many other countries of the world).
Under the guidance and advice of the scientist, 22 candidate's theses and 2 doctoral theses were defended. He acted as an official opponent while defending more than 10 doctoral theses and 30 candidate theses.
Everyone who knew Roman Semenovych loved and respected him for his sensitive attitude towards people, great spiritual generosity, wisdom and optimism.
