The scientist of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Doctor of Philosophy Nataliia Maksiuta became the laureate of the "Renewable Energy Award" with a monetary reward of 500 euros from the well-known German company "BayWa r.e" for the presentation of an eco-project aimed at solving the problems of air pollution, reducing chemical and noise pollution in the urban environment.

Recently, Nataliia Maksiuta, together with her colleagues, took part in the prestigious international conference "Chance for Science", organized by the leading German institution of higher education, which continues to provide comprehensive support and assistance to Ukrainian scientists in wartime conditions – the University of Leipzig.

As part of a large-scale scientific event, a scientist from the Poltava Polytechnic presented a report in which she shared the developed modern model of municipal transport "greening" in the city of Poltava and presented a set of measures aimed at reducing chemical pollution and noise load on the urban environment. According to the results of the international conference "Chance for Science", the report of the Poltava Polytechnic scientist was the best in the "Ecology and Energy" section, and the organizers of the conference as well as representatives of the European academic community noted the social significance of the scientific work and the high level of presentation of developments in the environmental field.

"Working on the chosen topic, I tried to find effective ways to solve regional environmental problems related to air pollution by harmful emissions. Unfortunately, this problem is becoming more urgent not only for Ukraine, but also for other European countries, with the development of innovative technologies and an increase in the number of vehicles on the streets of our cities, the situation is taking on a global scale, so it is necessary to find ways to solve similar problems at the international level.

It is worth noting that colleagues-scientists from leading foreign universities and representatives of world-famous brands do not remain aloof from the discussion of the above-mentioned problems and make maximum efforts to successfully solve them. It is a great honor for me to receive a high international award, which will serve as an additional positive incentive to work even more effectively for the benefit of the university, the Ukrainian people and our country. I am proud of joint achievements and my belonging to the scientific community of Poltava Polytechnic!" – commented scientist Nataliia Maksiuta. The laureate of the prestigious award expresses her sincere gratitude for the opportunity to present her scientific work at a high European level of administration, to teachers of the Department of Applied Ecology and Nature Management of the Poltava Polytechnic, and partners from the University of Leipzig.

It should be recalled that the international conference "Chance for Science" was founded in September 2015 to help refugee scientists and is held on an ongoing basis. For active students, scientists or researchers, teachers of universities affected by the war, this is an excellent opportunity to continue their studies, present a research project or scientific paper, share their own research data and scientific experience, as well as create a network of contacts within the academic discipline.

Previously, the scientists presented the innovative, scientific and educational activities of the Poltava Polytechnic at the EAIE-2022 conference-exhibition in Barcelona, students presented their own eco-experience in a project dedicated to the development of environmental awareness of Europeans, and the project of the scientists of the Poltava Polytechnic won the Jean Monnet Actions competition from the Erasmus+ programme.
