On October 3, 2023, the Head of the Department of Public Management, Administration and Law of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration, Associate Professor Inna Kulchii joined the work of the round table “Discussion of the draft law “On collective labour disputes”. Specialists of the branch of the National Mediation and Reconciliation Service in the Poltava region acted as the organizers of the large-scale professional event.
Representatives of state authorities and local self-government bodies, representatives of the Poltava Regional Council of Trade Unions, the Poltava Regional Association of Employers’ Organizations, scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions of the city of Poltava took part in the discussion of the draft law.
The event participants emphasized the peculiarities of the specified draft law and the need to finalize the norms related to the clear and understandable regulation of the right to strike and collective actions of the employer, the development of social dialogue, strengthening the role of negotiations and collective agreements (contracts). Of particular interest was the opinion of the authors regarding the expansion of the institution of alternative ways of resolving collective labour disputes, relieving the courts by encouraging the parties to resort to conciliation procedures, labour arbitration.
Those present expressed hopes for further improvement of the draft law and further implementation of international standards on the territory of Ukraine, especially regarding the protection of citizens’ rights.
It should be recalled that earlier scientists, students and practitioners exchanged useful cases in the field of public administration on the basis of the Department of the National Mediation and Conciliation Service in the Poltava Region.
Recently, future financiers learned about the peculiarities of corporate governance and compliance risks in banking institutions from real cases of JSC “Poltava Bank”, Polytechnic scientists held a workshop dedicated to the development of financial literacy in Ukraine and EU countries.
