University and the Patrol Police Administration in Poltava Region have already managed to hold a few joined events. It is very pleasant that our partners always respond to our various initiatives. A bright example is the bicycle race dedicated to the Youth Day-2020, which was joined by approximately 30 students and teachers of the Faculty of Sports, representatives of students’ self-government bodies and university professional committee. Patrol Police Administration provided decent accompaniment and support, two officer crews ensured safety during the race. Thank you for the incredible professionalism, great organization of a joined event. The participants of the bicycle race got positive emotions which will be remembered for a very long time. Without appropriate support we likely would not have managed to do it. We will not stop at this, there are many interesting projects ahead us. And by signing the Memorandum on Cooperation and Partnership today we assure our intent to cooperate in the future,” Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko commented.

“The cooperation with National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is exercised on a continuous basis. I am glad that both the city community and the higher education institutions appreciate our daily work. The professions of both architects and police officers are honorable as they perform a great mission, which is to serve the people of Ukraine and to ensure their well-being. We invite students and teachers to do internships in patrol police of the city and of the region. Higher education is not obligatory, you should be passionate and have a cool head - we are waiting for you,” the Head of the Patrol Police Department in Poltava region, Major of Police Vitalii Melnychuk commented.

The team of the Patrol Police Administration in Poltava Region of the Patrol Police Department was given the Rector’s Commendation of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for great contribution to road traffic safety assurance, excellent service to the Ukrainian people, dutiful attitude to work responsibilities, and guarding the lives and health of the participants of bicycle race organized by Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic. The Commendation was signed by the Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, the President of Students’ Parliament Oleksandr Lytvynenko and the Head of Students’ Union Committee Oleksandr Drobotia.

University administration also sent an official letter to the Patrol Police Department in which the thankfulness of the university team was expressed.

The representatives of students’ self-government bodies expressed their personal gratitude to the Head of Patrol Police Administration in Poltava Region of the Patrol Police Department, Major of Police Vitalii Melnychuk for extensive support of the sport activity among the student youth of Poltava region.

“We have been shown how important is the coordinated work of the whole team, how vital is to join actions for traffic road safety measures. After signing the Memorandum on Cooperation the meeting of the Head of Patrol Police Administration in Poltava Region, Major of Police Vitalii Melnychuk with the forth-year students of Motor Vehicle Transport and Geodesy and Land Management of Education and Research Institute of Architecture and Construction was held.

“With reference to our good old traditions, we decided to hold today’s meeting in the Q&A form. We have recently signed an agreement with the Cyber Police, and today we confirmed the partnership with the Patrol Police. We will continue adding to this list,” Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko emphasized.

Major Vitalii Melnychuk told students about the perspectives and peculiarities of serving in patrol police, mentioning the main requirements for the candidates, such as having secondary education, great physical form, and the wish to serve to the people.

“The authority range of the patrol police is not limited only to street patrolling. It also includes arriving on the scenes of domestic violence, road accidents, holes on the roads. Our Administration has many divisions which perform assigned tasks. Unfortunately, people mostly apply to police with negative situations, like finding and penalizing wrongdoers. We try to break stereotypes and build cooperation with citizens, establishments and education institutions in positive things. We follow the main principle of our work, that is nowhere can be better than home. That’s why we try to meet student youth more often, tell them about the possibilities, invite them to work with us,” Vitalii Melnychuk explained.

The main questions of modern youth include the conditions of employment to the National Police of Ukraine and the Patrol Police in particular, having appropriate education, possibilities to combine work and education, perspectives of career development. Students joined the discussion actively and showed interest to constructive conversation. In conclusion, Volodymyr Onyshchenko and Vitalii Melnychuk wished students success in bringing their personal dreams and professional plans to life.

The cooperation with the Patrol Police Administration in Poltava Region is a possibility for students and teachers to do practical classes, internships, develop and strengthen their professional skills. The Memorandum covers holding educational trainings and classes at the Patrol Police Administration.
