A representative of the student self-government of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, a student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management Oleksa Shchur-Dunets became a participant in the all-Ukrainian event “Ukrainian Youth Forum: Restoration in Unity”, which took place from August 10 to 12 in Kyiv.
The forum brought together more than 300 participants from different regions of Ukraine, 50 speakers and 14 international partners for the common goal of uniting youth movements and organizations, their coordinated involvement in the implementation of youth policy during the war and in the reconstruction process. The event was organized by the Council on Youth Affairs under the President of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the support of international partners.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal gave congratulatory words. In his speech, the Head of State noted that in the conditions of a full-scale russian invasion, Ukrainians are going through difficult challenges every day. And the Ukrainian military on the front line has been resisting the invader for more than 17 months, so they objectively feel tired. But it is precisely this fatigue that will be the basis of Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
“Now I want to wish you all a decent fatigue. I wish you powerful results in life. Because your life is the life of future Ukraine,” – added the President of Ukraine.
Speakers of the forum were also ministers, deputy ministers and representatives of Ukrainian and international public organizations.
During three days, the participants of the youth forum analysed the current situation in the youth field, got acquainted with the best practices and current opportunities for strengthening the institutional capacity of the participating teams, identified the urgent requests of representatives of various directions of youth policy, formulated proposals for current programs and their operational plans in order to increase the effectiveness of implementation and determined the priorities for the next 5-year State targeted social program “Youth of Ukraine”.
According to the representative of the Poltava Polytechnic, the event was organized at the highest level. A good, friendly atmosphere was felt during the three days. The forum was full of high-quality networking with the best representatives of the youth sector.
“The program of the event was extremely interesting, I will use the information and experience I received in my work.
Most memorable was the meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. It is valuable that in such a difficult time for our country, the leaders of the state find opportunities to delve into the problems and listen to the vision of the young generation regarding the future of Ukraine.
I am grateful to the organizers for the motivational meeting, new acquaintances with like-minded people and the experience gained! Unity is our strength!” – commented Oleksa Shchur-Dunets.
It should be recalled that a meeting of youth leaders of the Poltava region was held at the Polytechnic on the occasion of the International Youth Day.
Earlier, a workshop dedicated to the planning of the future regional youth hub was held on the basis of the Polytechnic.
