On October 14-20, 2022, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the Football Championships of Ukraine among athletes with hearing impairment, which was particularly successful for the picked team of the Poltava region under the leadership of the Honored Coach of Ukraine, the Director of the Poltava Regional Center for Physical Culture and Sports for the Disabled “Invasport” of the Poltava Regional Council Oleksandr Vereshchaka.
Students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Leonid Morozov (group 201–FS), Dmytro Tretiak (group 201–FS), Mykhailo Polianskyi (group 102–FS), Dmytro Shevchenko (group 102–FS), Dmytro Klementiev (group 102–FS) and Nazar Varvarchyna (group 102–FS) as part of the picked team of the Poltava region confidently defeated experienced opponents and won the gold medals of the Football Championships of Ukraine among athletes with hearing impairment.
The winner was determined in the last round of football matches between the teams of Central Ukraine and Prykarpattia, the sports tournament ended with a convincing victory with a score of 5:0 in favor of the picked team of the Poltava region.
At the end of the tournament, the most active athletes were awarded, in particular, the best player of the Championships of Ukraine was the representative of the Carpathian region Volodymyr Rii, the best goalkeeper was Mykola Denysiuk from the team of the Western region. A student of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Leonid Morozov became the best scorer of the Championships of Ukraine with 16 goals scored.

It should be recalled that the team of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports won the “Commonwealth Cup” of the Poltava Polytechnic.
Earlier, student Mykhailo Serdiuk became the champion of Muay Thai among young people, first-year student Pavlo Korobov won four gold medals at the Open Kickboxing Championships of the city of Poltava, and a student of FPCS won five medals at the Rowing Championships of Ukraine on the “Dragon” boats.
