On 22 January, the Day of Unity of Ukraine, Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University under the auspices of the Kharkiv Regional Council held the International Student Research Competition “Restoration of Transport Infrastructure of Ukraine: World Experience”.
The competition organisers aimed to support talented young people, create conditions for unlocking their potential and stimulate research interest even in difficult wartime conditions. An important aspect of the competition was the opportunity for participants to propose innovative scientific and practical solutions to restore transport infrastructure during the war and post-war period. This format made it possible to properly present the research of higher education students and young scientists.
Those receiving higher education at the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” joined the competition by presenting their research in three thematic sections:
- Innovative methods of designing transport infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
- Innovative methods and technologies for geodetic support of surveys, design and construction of transport infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
- Technologies for restoring and operating the transport infrastructure of Ukraine.
Based on the results of the competition, a 2nd year student majoring in 192 Civil and Environmental Engineering Vitalii Lednik received a second degree diploma for his research “Application of simulation modelling to improve road safety at an intersection”. The research was carried out under the scientific supervision of Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Tkachenko. The expert committee noted the high scientific level of the research and its significant practical value for road safety.

A 4th year student majoring in 193 Geodesy and Land Management Mykola Latsiuha also distinguished himself by receiving a third degree diploma, presenting a research on “Improving the land use of transport infrastructure in the context of land relations development”. The scientific supervisor of this research was the Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Alla Kariuk. The research was highly appreciated for the professional level of the study and its practical significance for the development of land relations.

We congratulate the talented students and their supervisors on their significant achievements. They represented National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” with dignity.
