On September 9, the Congress of Representatives of Higher Legal Educational Institutions and Research Institutions of Ukraine was held on the basis of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Among the key issues of the Congress was the appointment of representatives to the Council of Prosecutors of Ukraine and the relevant body conducting disciplinary proceedings.
National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was represented by a scientist of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law – Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of Department of Public Governance, Administration and Law Olena Skrylnyk. According to the lecturer, the significance of the event as a whole is difficult to overestimate, since by European standards, the majority in the Council of Prosecutors of Ukraine should be prosecutors themselves, and two representatives (scientists) are appointed directly at the Congress by representatives of law schools and research institutions.
“The ability to consider the situation inside and outside the system, in terms of the needs of society, is important characteristics for candidates for the Council of Prosecutors. It is my firm belief that the professional experience of a lecturer, scientist and prosecutor can contribute to the formation of a sound and objective assessment of the actions of prosecutors. Participation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in important events at the state level clearly shows the recognition of its research, educational and innovative activities as a leader in higher education in the Poltava region and high professionalism, significant personal contribution of each scientist to public life. Therefore, Poltava Polytechnic occupies an important place among the leading Ukrainian institutions of higher education, which prepare highly qualified legal professionals,” – commented Olena Skrylnyk.
As a result of the work of the Congress, two members of the Council of Prosecutors of Ukraine and the relevant body conducting disciplinary proceedings were appointed by secret ballot.
Previously, scientists and experts worked on improving the educational program “Law”, legal practitioners shared professional life hacks with future lawyers, and forensic experts told law students how to look for traces of crime.
