Polytechnic teacher wins a silver medal at the European Powerlifting Championship

Senior teacher of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sport of International Class of Ukraine in powerlifting Oksana Hordiienko won the open European Championship in classical bench press among women in the weight category up to 52 kg.

Polytechnic teacher wins a silver medal at the European Powerlifting Championship

From August 2 to 7, 2022, in the Hungarian capital – Budapest, competitions at the open European Championship among juniors/sub-juniors/masters in classic and equipped bench press are taking place. 689 athletes – 420 men and 269 women from 21 European countries – are competing for the coveted medals.

35 sportswomen from 13 European countries took part in the “Masters 1” age category. They competed in eight weight categories, demonstrated high results, the will to win and replenished the treasury of awards of the national teams of their countries.

Senior teacher of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Master of Sport of International Class of Ukraine in powerlifting Oksana Hordiienko became the silver medalist of the European Championship in the discipline of classic bench press among women in the weight category up to 52 kg. With a result of 67.5 kilograms, the athlete was second only to the representative of Poland, Jadwiga Radwańska. “Bronze” was won by an athlete from Serbia.

Previously, Polytechnic students won gold and silver medals in kickboxing at the 2022 European University Games, and a graduate of the university once again became the world champion in Muay Thai at the XI World Games-2022.
