During June 20-24, the RectorsCyberCup’22 esports tournament was held on the FACEIT gaming platform under the auspices of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. This year, the tournament was held online, four teams were entered, one of which was the Polytechnic team.

Rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, head of the separate units “Sports Student Union of Ukraine” and “Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports” in the Poltava Region Volodymyr Onyshchenko congratulated the participants of the tournament.

“It is very nice that we have such active young people who find themselves in such an interesting sport as esports. I am proud of the fact that we are probably the only higher education institution in which proper conditions have been created for the esportsmen. Therefore, of course, it should give its positive results.

Regarding the results of this tournament, Polytechnic is in the lead, but objectively and transparently. It is very nice that the students of our university understand, appreciate and fully use the investments made to create such a base, work on themselves in order to use these opportunities as efficiently as possible.

We opened up these prospects for schoolchildren as well. So I want to wish the participants one thing – improve your skills, raise your professional level, do not forget about training and continue to show your skills in esports. And I undertake to support the development of youth sports in every possible way.

It is good that we have such an opportunity – to hold tournaments. I emphasize once again that every event held on the territory of the university is a great expression of sincere gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Congratulations on the victory, with another good deed in support of the AFU, which brings our Victory in the war closer. Glory to Ukraine!” – congratulated the esportsmen Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

“The key to our victory was perseverance and clarity in the team. We have been training almost every day for at least 12 hours. We plan to continue to represent Polytechnic in the esports space as well as win championships in esports tournaments,” – noted the winning team representative, Khasan Khoseiny, a master’s student at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.

Our university’s esportsmen continue to be the leaders of the RectorsCyberCup. Last year, Polytechnic students became the winners of the Open esports tournament “RectorsCyberCup’21”.

“Khasan Khoseiny and Yaroslav Turenko are two captains of the team, both are very responsible. From the very beginning, it was them who made the proposal to hold this tournament. You can come to the university on any day – the students have already finished the academic year, but their training here still continues. The team is very strong, as evidenced by the fact that they participated in Ukrainian championships and all-Ukrainian esports competitions. The university has created all the conditions for the team to train – appropriate equipment, specialized computers, expensive video cards that make it possible to hold competitions and training. Every day, even on Saturdays, students call and ask to open the room so that they can work,” – said Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko.

It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic students collected funds for a thermal imager for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in one evening; recently Poltava actors played a Swedish fairy tale for immigrant children, and student volunteers treated the audience to delicacies.
