Polytechnic To Open Ukrainian-Tajik Education and Culture Center

From March, 29 to April, 2, Rector of Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko was visiting the Republic of Tajikistan as part of the official Ukrainian delegation of scientists and education workers headed by Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet. University expanded the circle of its international partners and signed agreements on opening a Ukrainian-Tajik education and culture center.

Educational fair “Study in Ukraine”, a forum of Ukrainian and Tajik higher education institutions, and a meeting of the Tajik graduates of Ukrainian institutions were organized in Dushanbe for the first time. During the official visit of the Ukrainian delegation, diplomatic meetings and signing of contracts with the leading Ukrainian universities were also held.

Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Muhriddin, a graduate of Odesa State Environmental University. Emphasizing the long history and old traditions of educational cooperation, they discussed the idea of bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science, and determined the prospects spheres for its activation. Sirodjiddin Muhriddin mentioned the high level of specialist training at Ukrainian universities and recalled the warm memories of his student years spent in Ukraine.

“Ukraine has a great educational and research experience and traditions, and Ukrainian universities have enough potential to ensure high-quality training for specialists with higher education, considering the requirements of the modern job market and research,” Serhii Shkarlet emphasized.

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was represented by a delegation that included Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs, PhD in Economics Svitlana Sivitska, Head of the Foreigner Education Department Olha Hryhoryshyna.

“The first educational fair “Study in Ukraine” organized by the Ukrainian State International Education Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was truly a historic event. Our team presented real opportunities and advantages of studying at National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” to the Tajik school graduates and students. Within the first educational forum of rectors, the delegations of Ukrainian and Tajik heads of higher education institutions met in an extended format with the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ukraine’s Ambassador in the Republic of Tajikistan and honored guests,” Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko commented. “Together with the Rector of leading educational institutions of Tajikistan, we signed agreements for cooperation with National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", which cover the development of international cooperation, academic exchanges, joined educational, scientific and sport events. Developing the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Tajikistan, we reached agreement with the partners to open the Ukrainian-Tajik Education and Culture Center at National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”!

“The Ukrainian delegation visited Tajikistan within the events on popularizing the higher education opportunities in Ukraine for foreign students, which is mentioned in the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 210/2020 “On Improvements of the Higher Education in Ukraine”. It is very important that Poltava region is also involved in such a strategic process, and it is honorable that National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” performs this responsible mission. I am proud to represent Poltava Polytechnic and found new directions for international academic, scientific and educational cooperation. I am thankful to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and its Head for trusting us to be present at such historic meetings with our colleagues from other leading higher education institutions of Ukraine!”

From now on, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” will cooperate with Technological University of Tajikistan, Tajik Technical University named after academician M. Osimi, and Tajik Institute of Physical Education named after S. Rahimov, and the most anticipated joined projects include opening the Ukrainian-Tajik Education and Culture Center.
