The Trade Union of Students and Post-Graduates and the Student Parliaments of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held the annual charitable event to St. Nicholas Day. The volunteers of student self-government did not accept money. They collected various gifts from students, teachers and other university workers, including clothes, toys, stationary and sweets, and gave them to the children of Novi Sanzhary Orphanage.
According to Head of the Trade Union of Students and Post-Graduates of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oleksandr Drobotia, the winter holidays are yet another reason to give some warmth the small hearts.
“We hold the charitable movements annually, and it is important to mention that the number of people who want to help is growing. We give toys, clothes and books to different educational institutions. We have visited the Novi Sanzhary orphanage for the first time,” he commented.
The gifts to the children of the orphanage were given by the representatives of student self-government Mkrtich Akopian and Liudmyla Bylym, Head of the Trade Union of Students and Post-Graduates Oleksandr Drobotia, and President of the Student Parliament of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oleksandr Lytvynenko. The meeting was held with all the lockdown requirements and social distance rules.
After the lockdown end, the volunteers plan to hold entertaining events for the children, because they need attention, communication and support.
