On September 29, on the summer stage of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", a charity art event was held in honor of university freshmen who made a patriotic decision to study in Ukraine, and organized a fund-raising for the purchase of an SUV for the 46th AAB (Air Assault Brigade). The event was held with the support of the rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
On one stage gathered the band "Live Drums" led by Yevhenii Dudnyk, winner of all-Ukrainian and international competitions, teacher of Poltava Children's Music School No. 1 Danylo Reveka, as well as participants of "Voice of the Country" and "X-Factor" – Abiie, Artem Loik, Andi.
"Our university has many traditions, one of which is holding a party for students to celebrate Freshman's Day. But taking into account the fact that already for 218 days Ukraine is fighting for victory, we decided, without breaking tradition, to hold a patriotic event in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the slogan "Learn in Ukraine!" You are great fellows and patriots, since you chose the Poltava Polytechnic, Poltava, Ukraine for studying. You are the future of our country, young people who, after the victory of Ukraine, will restore the infrastructure, rebuild the country and make it one of the best.
Today, first of all, I would like to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity for students to attend classes, for the opportunity to hold this event, and thank our student volunteers who, from the first days of the war, created a wonderful Volunteer Headquarters at the university. I thank the graduates Artem Loik, Ivan Ksenzhuk and the powerful team of student self-government headed by Mariia Zaitseva and the Trade Union Committee of Students and Postgraduates headed by Oleksandr Drobotia, who provided, are providing and will continue to provide assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and internally displaced persons. Special words of thanks to graduate and cool volunteer Yaroslav Perederii!
We are patriots of Ukraine and we are doing everything to ensure that peace comes as soon as possible. Together to victory! Everything will be Ukraine!" – noted the Rector.
Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko together with his family made their personal contribution to the box.
During the evening of Ukrainian music, covers of well-known songs and author’s works were played. A graduate of the university, head of the Center for Culture and Student Creativity of the Poltava Polytechnic, founder of the University Volunteer Headquarters, famous rap artist Artem Loik and participant of the shows "X-factor" and "Voice of the Country" Abiie performed six of their own songs for the audience – "Rage", "Sea ", "Wings", "Bloody Dance", "Not Red Rue" and "To Ukraine".
While the musicians were performing their talent, the audience was donating to the box. 35,000 hryvnias were collected in an hour.
Earlier, in one evening, students of Poltava Polytechnic raised funds for a thermal imager for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
