On August, 24, on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine, the Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, winner of the State Award in Ukraine in Science and Technology, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Onyshchenko was awarded the third-grade Order of Merit for considerable personal contribution in the state development, the social, economic, scientific, technological, cultural-educational development of Ukraine, great achievements at work and high professionalism.
Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko has created a unique laboratory base for students’ studying with the application of modern software, involved leading business structures in cooperation with university, ensured the entrance to international educational rankings with his creative ideas and plans, and shared his experience with education workers by actively participating in the organization of high-quality education system and science activity in Poltava region. University has entered the top-7 leaders of higher education in Ukraine who started realizing the “Higher Education of Ukraine” project financed by the European Investment Bank.
He pays special attention to work with talented youth and the development of youth sport. By cooperating with the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, he encourages youth to scientific research, planting the aspiration to development in them, involving them in scientific and creative activity. By heading the Poltava departments of the Students’ Sport Association in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Federation of Students’ Sport, he popularizes healthy lifestyle, sport activities, develops high-quality sport infrastructure and organizes sport events.
Doctor of Economics, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko is an authoritative scientist in Ukraine, whose works include 26 monographs, 15 studying guides and students’ books with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 16 patents and copyright certificates, more than 250 scientific articles, some of which are included in the Scopus, the Web of Science. Under his mentoring, 5 doctoral and 30 post-graduate theses have been defended.
