I am happy and excited to congratulate you all to the 90th anniversary of our university with respect to all the generation and the large family of our Alma Mater!
A jubilee is always an occasion for summarizing, reflecting on the achievements and successes, and building a vision of the future.
University remembers and preserves its historical traditions, understands the new requirements of the European education field, and, most importantly, is oriented for the relevant challenges.
The glorious history of our university starts in 1930, when with consideration of the industrial needs of our country the government issued a decree on founding new higher education institutions, in accordance with which Poltava Institute of Agricultural Construction was founded (August 19, 1930).
History keeps the many years of the hard work of famous scientists’ and teachers’ generations at National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
Personally I believe that the success of our higher education institution has been achieved thanks to the people who have worked at the university, from that moments till today. It is only for their achievements that the university has had such a dynamical progress.
Last years have marked an important stage in the university history; its status has been improved and the name was changed to National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. It has not only been the name that’s changes, but also the core of the institution; our university has been transformed from a powerful higher education institution in technical field to a classical multi-subject university.
Today, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is a leader of higher education market in Ukraine, a powerful international scientific and innovative center, which includes 8 structural subdivisions, 9 buildings, more than 120 educational, scientific and research laboratories and computer laboratories.
The educational process is provided by 400 academic workers, among which there are 50 doctors of sciences and professors, and 300 PhDs and associate professors. The academic community of our university includes 10 winners of the State Award of Ukraine in Science and Engineering, 21 winners of the Award of the President of Ukraine for Young Scientists.
The rapid development of our university is clearly illustrated by the positions in international and local rankings.
We have been cooperating with the establishments of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, and the Poltava Branch of the North-Eastern Scientific Center of NAS and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is housed at the university. University actively develops the young scientists’ and students’ scientific activity, holds student scientific conferences and summer schools; the number of winners at scientific competitions and contests has been growing.
The cooperation with the Minor Academy of Sciences (MAS) of Ukraine, intended for supporting the talented children, has been extremely efficient.
In 2020, Poltava Territorial Department of MAS has reached the top-5 regions of Ukraine with the results of the talented youth's presentations. Our teachers actively help develop the young scientists and researchers.
Poltava Territorial Department of MAS has made a positive contribution to the inclusion of the National Center “Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” to the leading world education and science organization UNESCO.
Poltava Polytechnic has been integrating to the world educational space, being a member of the Magna Charta Universitatum, and extending the geography of the international partnerships and giving recommendations for colleagues that want to join the European university family.
Wide opportunities are open for the students, such as the unique programs for our country of double diplomas with the UK, Canada, the USA, Poland, France, Germany and other countries. International projects of the British Council, the US Peace Corps, the US Embassy in Ukraine are realized here.
Today, knowledge is not the only aspect of evaluating the modern person. It's only the organic combination of it with culture, morality, spirituality and patriotism can finish the formation of the harmoniously developed person.
The university now is about profession, science and practice combined with general cultural and human values.
It is not easy to reach the goal, as the world keeps changing, the circumstances present high requirements, and we need innovations to face the new challenges.
Quality and efficiency improvements in education, combination of scientific research and educational process at all the levels of training, further active development of schools of thought, cooperation with world scientific and educational centers and foundations, formation of innovative infrastructure and commercialization of scientific research results are the priorities of Poltava Polytechnic now, that ensure its authority, recognition and prestige in the future.
While turning another page in its great history, National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” preserves the glorious past and reacts to the challenges of today, multiplying the successful work and makes a confident step into its innovative future!
