Rehabilitation After COVID-19: Polytechnic Students Join Course Of Lectures

The World Physiotherapy Day is celebrated annually on September 8. This is the day on which the World Confederation for Physical Therapy was founded in 1951. In 2020, the World Confederation for Physical Therapy changed its name to the World Physiotherapy.

The students of the Bachelor’s degree program “Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy” of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” took part in a lecture course and promotion event “Physiotherapy is key to your recovery from COVID-19” initiated by the World Physiotherapy.

This year’s campaign was dedicated to the rehabilitation after COVID-19 and the role of physiotherapists in the treatment and management of people who had contracted the illness, and this year gives the possibility to improve people’s level of knowledge about the role of physiotherapy in the rehabilitation after COVID-19.

During the classes, students learned about the exercises that can help to recover after COVID-19, the rehabilitation after an extended treatment, and TV-medicine as an effective platform for accessing the physiotherapy in case of COVID-19. The future specialists also had a possibility to join the scientific discussion on clinical analysis of one’s walking during the illnesses of nervous system and locomotion system.

The World Physiotherapy aims to support the member organizations, as well as separate physiotherapists in their efforts to promote the profession and support health in the world, using the World Physiotherapy Day as a key event. This day symbolizes the unity and solidarity of the physiotherapy community all around the world.
