Reimagine Doing: University Supports the Initiative of World Occupational Therapy Day

On October, 27, the World Occupational Therapy Day was celebrated. Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department and the students of specialization No. 227 “Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy” joined the initiative of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists concerning the popularization of a new globally important profession of occupational therapists.

This year, the celebration was held in the form of e-lectures “Occupational Therapy: Reimagine Doing”, which opened the autumn lecture course dedicated to the 90th anniversary of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Students and teachers of Poltava Regional Scientific Boarding Lyceum named after A. S. Makarenko of Poltava Oblast Council, and Poltava Gymnasium “Health” No. 14 participated in the online event.

The participants were greeted by Nataliia Beseda, PhD of Pedagogy, Associate Professor, Dean of Faculty of Sports, and Larysa Voloshko, PhD of Pedagogy, Associate Professor, Head of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department.

The speaker of the event was PhD in Medicine, Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department Viktoriia Horoshko. She presented about the history and the principles of occupational therapy, this unique profession in general, the process and the fields of occupational therapy, emphasized the possibility of receiving the Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy at National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
