On May, 16, on the Day of Vyshyvanka, a concert of the famous Ukrainian rock band KARTA SVITU took place on the open-air stage of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. After a break due to the air raid alert, the Ukrainian musicians rocked the university stage.

The charity event in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held at the initiative of Volunteer Headquarters of Poltava Polytechnic and with the assistance of the founder of NGO “IDPs of Ukraine”, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Supervisory Board member Maksym Tkachenko.

“Within the framework of the XVIII All-Ukrainian Science Festival, which is celebrated annually at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, a number of different events take place. We are holding a charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also today, I would like to congratulate you on another holiday, the Day of Vyshyvanka. Ukrainian vyshyvanka is a symbol of invincibility, a symbol of our unity and a symbol of our Victory.

I would like to thank a member of the University’s Supervisory Board, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Maksym Tkachenko, for supporting student initiatives and facilitating this event.

The youth rock band KARTA SVITU has greatly supported the morale and mental health of our students and scientists!

We sincerely thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to hold such events. Another concert of Ukrainian stars brought us closer to Victory! Glory to Ukraine!” – emphasised Rector of Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

During the concert at Poltava Polytechnic stage, the members of KARTA SVITU presented their debut album “The Space of Important Things” and played new hits for the audience.

“Today is a truly unique day. In addition to greeting everyone who came in vyshyvanka on the occasion of the holiday, we are honoured to present the album “The Space of Important Things” for the first time in Poltava and sing songs from this album.

I know that many artists have already performed at this venue, this place is well-oiled, this place has already seen many rock concerts. I know for sure that this is not the first time that it has been suggested that we sing songs together. So let’s give it a try, shall we?

Poltava is a land of talented people. I thank everyone, each and every one of them, who is already starting the path to their goals. I am sure that Poltava Polytechnic is a great place to start moving towards your dreams,” – said the frontman Ivan Marunych.

Together with students, scientists, teachers, and visitors of Poltava Polytechnic, the band sang their songs “Vzhe sohodni (Eng. Already Today)”, “Luna”, “Jump!!”, “Vona liahaie spaty (Eng. She Goes to Sleep)”, “Premiia (Eng. Prize)”, “Nemov ptakhy (Eng. Like Birds)”, “Batina mashyna (Eng. Dad’s Car)”, “Z kozhnoi prasky (Eng. From Every Corner)”, and also performed their most popular song, the folk hit “Pes Patron (Eng. Dog Patron)”.

KARTA SVITU performed a few more of their best songs as an encore, and at the end of the concert, they gave away branded merchandise among the concert participants, sparing no effort to sign autographs and take selfies for their fans.
