At the invitation of the teachers of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Marketing of the Poltava Polytechnic within the framework of studying the discipline "Business diagnostics", the speakers gave a practical lecture "EU’s Trade policy with Ukraine Before and During the War" for students of the second (master's) level of higher education majoring in 076 "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Stock Exchanges" as well as 075 "Marketing". The lecture was the final session of a 30-hour training course prepared as part of the European Union Jean Monet chair project "Jean Monet Chair for EU Economic Policy and Civil Society" (619878-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR).

Students and teachers of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Trade of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" together with the invited speakers discussed the main directions of intensifying the trade activity of the countries of the European Union with Ukraine, diagnosed the potential of Ukrainian business development in the context of international cooperation. During the discussion, those present noted the important role of the EU as a participant in global trade policy and thoroughly deliberated on the main principles of the formation of the European Union's foreign policy.

According to scientists, due to the full-scale invasion, the economy of Ukraine in 2022 suffered the largest losses in the entire history of independence. In particular, the gross domestic product and trade turnover decreased by almost a third, while exports to the European Union increased. This was facilitated by the liberalization of trade with EU countries – last year in June, the European Union abolished anti-dumping duties and tariff quotas for Ukrainian goods. Many Ukrainian companies have taken advantage of the "window of opportunity". But is this growth sustainable? The participants discussed further prospects for the development of Ukrainian business and its integration into the European space.

The teachers of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration of Sumy State University also shared practical cases in the field of business diagnosis with the master's students of the Polytechnic and reviewed the educational and professional program "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Stock Exchanges".
