Scientist Donates Equipment for Controlling Gas Quality for Consumers and Hydrocarbon Assay

The Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies Ivan Zezekalo presented two unique tools to the Education and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of Poltava Polytechnic. These tools are intended for analyzing the natural gas composition and hydrocarbon fractions, and are to be used in the research activity and for providing services to oil and gas companies.

Scientist Donates Equipment for Controlling Gas Quality for Consumers and Hydrocarbon Assay

The Doctor of Engineering, Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies, Honored Master of Science and Engineering of Ukraine Ivan Zezekalo have been training highly professional specialists of the oil and gas field for many years. He has donated to the facilities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” multiple times, including presenting different equipment to the Department of Chemistry. Now, he has donated the chromatograph “Kristall 2000 M” to the Education and Research Institute of Oil and Gas for analyzing the composition and calculating the physical and chemical properties of natural gas, and the tool for oil product distillation used for determining the fraction composition of hydrocarbons.

The scientist has two goals; one is that the students and teachers will use the equipment in practical classes, the other is their application in research and providing various services.

According to Professor Ivan Zezekalo, the uniqueness of these tools is hard to overestimate.

“The students will be able to study with the equipment that has recently been used at production, so they will not have to learn more when they are employed. They will be able to work in laboratories as specialists of evaluating the quality of oil and gas without wasting any time for additional training,” the professor explained.

“The presented equipment is in perfect condition; it was used in real production, and there is the appropriate documentation. We have certain methodologies for using it in the studying process to model the real process of evaluating the quality of natural gas and the composition of hydrocarbons,” PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor, the Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies Maksym Kharchenko commented.
