Scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Automation, Electronics and Telecommunications of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” conducted the VII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Electronic and mechatronic systems: theory, innovation, practice”. In total, more than a hundred scientists from leading Ukrainian higher education institutions, employees of research institutions and specialized companies took part in the conference and deliberated on topical issues of automated systems development, networks and management tools. The large-scale scientific event was dedicated to discussing and highlighting the achievements of the scientific community, national companies in the field of electromechanical systems and automation, energy conservation in electromechanical systems, information and communication technologies, control tools, telecommunications systems and networks.
The organizing committee of the conference included: Doctor of Economics, Rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko; Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work Svitlana Sivitska; Candidate of Technical Sciences, Acting Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics Volodymyr Pents; and Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Automation, Electronics and Telecommunications Oleksandr Shefer.
Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Svitlana Sivitska greeted all those present with the conference start. She emphasized the importance and scientific relevance of the annual scientific and practical conference, presentation of practical experience of scientific schools of leading Ukrainian universities and the achievements of individual scientists.
“Dear colleagues, we sincerely welcome you to the virtual space of Poltava Polytechnic! We genuinely hope that today’s conference, as always, will be held at the highest level, and the best reports, practical works of scientists and individual author groups will find worthy use in the field of their scientific interests. I wish the participants fruitful work, inspiration and interesting scientific discussions!” – cheered Svitlana Sivitska.
The participants’ greetings were also joined by Acting Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technology and Robotics Volodymyr Pents; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Automation, Electronics and Telecommunications Oleksandr Shefer; and Head of the Department of Information Systems and Technologies of the National Transport University Valerii Havrylenko, who noted the high level of the conference organization and stressed the significance of this event for the scientific community of our country.
The conference partakers worked in the following areas: “Electromechanical systems and automation”, “Electrical machines and apparatus”, “Modeling and optimization methods”, “Energy conservation in electromechanical systems”, “Management of complex technical systems”, “Emergency problems and diagnostics in electromechanical systems and electric machines”, “Information and communication technologies and control tools”, and “Telecommunication systems and networks”.
The working languages of the conference were Ukrainian and English.
During the plenary session, the audience heard the reports:
- “Automation of power systems” – Vitalii Blazhko, director of LLC “IT Grand”;
- “Study of turbometer pressure stabilization system powered by an alternative source of electricity” – Hanna Zemlianukhina, lecturer at SITRAIN Training Center, PhD-student at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”;
- “TCRT5000 sensor data analysis in the robotic sorting system” – Ibrahim Sorje Turai, master’s student of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”;
- “Use of various refrigerants as working bodies for heat pumps” – Olena Borshch, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply, Ventilation and Heat Power Engineering at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”;
- “Information technology forecasting based on the method of quality index of subsystems’ elements interaction” – Oleksandr Laktionov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Automation, Electronics and Telecommunications at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”;
- “Information transfer in quantum systems” – Andrii Sokorenko, PhD-student of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”;
- “Method of implementation of modular multiplication operation using tabular multiplication code” – Viacheslav Chesnok, PhD-student of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
Partakers were especially interested in the presented reports of master’s and postgraduate students, young and experienced scientists. A kind of “highlight” of the conference, according to its organizers, was the participation of business representatives who clearly demonstrate the implementation of modern engineering solutions.
This year the conference participants had a unique opportunity to talk to the director of LLC “IT Grand” Vitalii Blazhko, who made a report about the structure and methods of power systems automation, as well as examples of engineering solutions implementation at “IT Grand”. In his report, the speaker also demonstrated an information system for monitoring the performance of automated power systems.
Hanna Zemlianukhina, a lecturer at the SITRAIN Training Center, demonstrated the results of modeling the processes that take place in this system and justified the need to use the suggested system configuration.
Ibrahim Sorje Turai, a student of the group 602-mMU of Poltava Polytechnic, presented the results of his research on solving the problem of malfunctions of a robotic sorting system. The speaker demonstrated the outcomes of the experiment, which revealed the causes of false positives, and suggested ways to solve this problem.
Participants noted the relevance of the presented scientific papers on theoretical research in the field and practical application of the latest electronic and mechatronic systems.
This conference provided an opportunity to present the main scientific researches of a wide range of national academic and university teams, to get acquainted with the areas of researches and achievements of scientific schools, introduction of innovations in the work directions of the conference.
At the end of the conference, the priority areas of further joint scientific and practical activities and cooperation to address pressing issues of the industry were identified. Scientific reports of the conference participants will be published in the electronic collection of scientific papers, which can be found in the section “Science and Innovation” (“Conference Proceedings”) on the official website of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
Previously, scientists and business representatives discussed trends in the production automation development, and lecturers of Poltava Polytechnic underwent a programming course at the Siemens Ukraine Training Center.
