On October 5, there was a seminar called “Quality Higher Education: Stakeholder Discussion” on the basis of Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics. It was organized with the full assistance and support of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance. Scientists, practitioners and stakeholders discussed practical tools for improving the quality of higher education, the relations between educational and professional qualifications and ways to improve the competitiveness of Ukrainian university graduates in the modern labor market.
National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was represented by a scientist of the Faculty of Humanities, guarantor of “Philology” specialty – Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Anna Pavelieva, who actively joined the discussion and received many useful practical cases for successful implementation of planned by the university research and educational projects.
According to the scientist, personal participation in scientific and educational activities at the state level, the opportunity to engage in communication with practitioners and real employers gives educators a unique chance to clearly understand the requirements of the modern market, and leading Ukrainian higher education institutions, including Poltava Polytechnic, to carry out first-rate preparation of highly qualified specialists of the European level.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to join a constructive dialogue with employers to improve the quality of education to the European level! The team of Poltava Polytechnic works for a mutual result,” – commented Candidate of Philology Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of Poltava Polytechnic, Anna Pavelieva.
The participants of the seminar were greeted by the head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance Serhii Kvit, who stressed the importance of the issues considered by educators and the significance of the scientific event chosen topic.
Iryna Zolotariova, a member of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, presented a report in which she considered four priorities of higher education, the relationship between educational and professional qualifications, described the role of stakeholders in the internal quality assurance system and more.
Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, Head of the Secretariat of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, presented the report “Higher Education: Vision and Challenges”, in which he stressed the criteria of quality of education, the importance of internal interaction between students and lecturers during the educational process, as well as thoroughly analyzed the criteria of accreditation examinations.
The seminar included a panel discussion “The quality of education from stakeholders’ perspective”, during which practitioners and employers discussed in detail the relationship between educational and professional qualifications, higher education standards, their purpose, regulatory framework and the quality of educational services provided by universities.
This format allowed the participants to ask topical questions to the representatives of the National Agency and get the necessary information for further fruitful work on the improvement and modernization of existing educational and professional programs.
During the practice part of the seminar, guarantors of educational programs, lecturers, students, administration and staff members worked in groups and actively deliberated on effective tools for quality assurance in higher education, and their actual application based on a practical case from the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.
Previously, students and scientists of the Polytechnic received free access to the EBSCOhost platform, and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities presented the successful international experience of the university in the field of science, education and innovation.
