Scientists-economists discuss innovative mechanisms for the national economy development in the context of European integration

On October 28, the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” hosted the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Innovation and Investment Mechanisms of National Economy Development in the Context of European Integration”, dedicated to discussing the most pressing issues and challenges of economic development at the present stage.

The VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Innovation and Investment Mechanisms of National Economy Development in the Context of European Integration” was held at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. Scientists from leading Ukrainian and foreign universities, practitioners and all those whose interests are related to the study and research of global economic changes have joined the active discussion of modern European integration processes, investment mechanisms and problems of the national economy. Due to quarantine restrictions caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, the scientific event with the participation of national and foreign partners of the university took place in a mixed format.

Scientists from leading higher education institutions of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Croatia and the Philippines became active participants in scientific discussions. They presented their own researches in the field of economy development and wished everyone fruitful scientific and educational cooperation in science and education.

The conference was opened by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Svitlana Sivitska, who noted the large-scale scientific and practical nature of the presented researches on topical issues, and Doctor of Economics, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law, Professor Iryna Chernysh.

“Despite the quarantine restrictions, the global pandemic, which has morally destabilized the European community, we are sincerely happy to join fruitful scientific discussions and deliberate on priority areas for national economy development in a dynamic European integration process, analyze existing risks and provide recommendations. Holding large-scale scientific and practical conferences of international level on the basis of Poltava Polytechnic clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of the synergetic effect of dialogue among science, education and business, and the achievements of various scientific schools have become the common heritage of the Ukrainian people,” – wished the participants interesting discussions, scientific enthusiasm and fruitful work Svitlana Sivitska.

The conference participants were also greeted by representatives from the University of the Philippines, Azerbaijan University of Economics (Azerbaijan), L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan). Representatives of the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan) Zhibek Rakhmetulina, and Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Social Capital Formation of the Ptoukha Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Tetiana Zaiats congratulated and sincerely thanked for the high level of organization and holding of the conference.

The plenary session was moderated by Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Management and Logistics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Olha Komelina.

The conference partakers worked in the following areas:

  • Innovative transformation of economy and business: national and European experience;
  • Modern management technologies in the context of the economy digitalization;
  • Innovative and information technologies in higher education: modern realities and prospects;
  • Logistics potential of Ukraine and prospects of its development in the context of European integration.

The presentation of practical and scientific achievements took place in three discussion panels:

  • “Modern tasks of public authorities in the field of cyberhygiene and cybersecurity in Ukraine”;
  • “Modern management technologies in the context of digitization”;
  • “Prospects for the logistics potential development in the context of European integration”.

Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Management and Logistics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Olha Komelina shared practical cases on the formation of a smart university model in the conditions of digital transformation of higher education. In a report prepared jointly with the Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Social Capital Formation of the Ptoukha Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Tetiana Zaiats, the scientist shared her thoughts and commented on the current state of smart education infrastructure in universities. The report aroused great enthusiasm and interest of Ukrainian and foreign scientists. Kazakh scientist Zhibek Rakhmetulina presented the report “Development of digitization in Kazakhstan”, in which she spoke about the most pressing issues of economic and financial market development of her native country.

Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman O. Shevchenko (“At the stage of transformation of state regional policy in Ukraine”); Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Ecology, Head of the Scientific and Research Laboratory “Earth Sciences” of the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” L. Horoshkova (“The role of state subventions in ensuring the financial capacity of local communities”); Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Management and Economics of the Flight Academy of the National Aviation University Zinaida Smutchak (“Current Aspects of Employment Field Transformation”); Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Ukrainian State Chemical Technology University O. Kuchkova (“Modeling the choice of optimal suppliers of raw stuff and materials”); Director of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Institute of Engineering and Technical Intelligence for Construction” V. Krainiev (“The impact of changes in social relations related to the COVID-19 pandemic on the management of enterprises and organizations. The need to adjust existing and to develop new management systems of enterprises and organizations”) joined the professional communication on topical issues of transformation, development of regional policy, the role of state subventions in ensuring the financial capacity of the population.

After the plenary session, the conference partakers worked in four sections: “Innovative transformation of economy and business: national and European experience”, “Modern management technologies in the context of the economy digitalization”, “Innovative and information technologies in higher education: modern realities and prospects”, “Logistics potential of Ukraine and prospects of its development in the context of European integration”, where they actively discussed the presented reports, shared their own opinions and scientific achievements.

Summing up the conference, scientists and practitioners from around the world agreed on further fruitful scientific and educational cooperation in the field of implementing joint research projects and publications.

Based on the results of the conference, the participants’ scientific papers will be published in the scientific professional journal of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” “Economy and Region” (professional publication), which is part of the international scientific database Index Copernicus.

Previously, scientists-financiers discussed the development of Ukraine’s financial market in the context of modern globalization.
