In the period from 10 to 14 June, 2024, the scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – Deputy Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Kseniia Verhal and Head of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies and Systems of Poltava Polytechnic, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Olena Dvirna successfully completed their Erasmus+ internship at the Poznan University of Technology.

The internship programme included lecturing to IT students of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Telecommunications of a foreign partner university in the discipline of Software Engineering. It should be recalled that recently the scientists of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management became participants of the Erasmus+ mobility programme at the Poznan University of Technology.

During the internship, Poltava Polytechnic scientist Olena Dvirna gave four lectures on the use of QA in software development and introduced the students to the topics of Agile Methodology, QA Basics, Software Testing Features, QA Methods and Techniques, sharing her own experience and developments in this field. Polish students took an active part in the discussion of the basic principles of testing, types of activities and roles in the process of assessing the quality of IT products.

Deputy Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technology and Robotics, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Kseniia Verhal devoted her lectures and workshops to the practical application of the Python programming language in the field of data analysis and told students about modern approaches to data visualisation, the latest libraries and software capabilities of Python for processing big data in analysis.

Within the framework of the internship, a meeting was held between the teachers of Poltava Polytechnic and the members of the student academic laboratory (Casting Research Club), during which the researcher Kseniia Verhal acquainted the students with the results of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project: ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH “European Experience of Information Security and Information Protection Systems under Present Large-Scale Cyber-attacks Conditions”, which has been successfully implemented at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” since 2023 and is dedicated to the important issues of information security in accordance with the EU requirements.

Representatives of Poltava Polytechnic also had the opportunity to take part in the defence of students’ project papers as members of the commission and to join the brainstorming on how to improve the quality of students’ computer engineering projects.

An important aspect of the internship was getting acquainted with Poznan University of Technology and discussing further cooperation between the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technology and Robotics and the Faculty of Computer Science and Telecommunications and their representative Adam Wojciechowski, Erasmus Faculty Coordinator in the field of joint research and academic mobility for students.

Recently, the Polytechnic scientist and students took part in the international Summit for Women in Tech & IT, Olena Haitan, Svitlana Halaur, Olha Harkava, Alina Zyhun and Yuliia Nikolaienko successfully completed their Erasmus+ internship at the Romanian partner university – Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, the Polytechnic scientist was elected for the third time as the External Communications Coordinator at the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers and took part in the annual Eurodoc conference in the capital of Slovenia, head of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Oksana Vorobiova received an academic scholarship for teaching from the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD), a psychology student joined the Polish grant programme “Study Tours to Poland” (STP), a personal exhibition of digital painting by a student of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy opened in Romania; Polytechnic scientists took part in a mobility programme at the University of Applied Sciences in Burgenland, and university and college students presented their projects at an international conference in Istanbul.
