“The results of scientific research evaluated by independent international rankings are an indicator of the high standards and, correspondingly, high quality of education at university.
“University scientists, whose articles are published in prestigious editions, have a high H-index which is a indicator of scientist’s authority, give students quality and deep knowledge, as well as encourage them to take part in scientific activity. It is important for students, because in the future, employers will prefer better-prepared specialists. The way to employment at leading companies starts at university. At the same time, the business appreciates the higher education institutions, where scientific activity and research are conducted, not only for the great training of specialists, but also for the possibility to order services from scientific establishments and universities. That is another indicator of trust and quality,” Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko commented.
It is impossible to submit an application to SCImago, the higher education institutions are automatically included into the list if they have no limitations for participating. The only requirement for participating is to have not less than 100 publications of any type indexed in Scopus over the 5 years before the ranking publication.
