From March 30 to April 2, 2023, with the support and comprehensive assistance of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Muay Thai Boxing Federation, the Ukrainian Muay Thai Boxing Championship among adults was held in the city of Vinnytsia. More than 200 professional athletes and representatives of youth sports clubs from fourteen regions of our country came to the city to compete for three days with experienced opponents, demonstrate spectacular fights and determine the best fighters in 20 separate weight and age categories. The average age of the participants ranged from 18 to 40 years, and the excellent physical shape as well as high level of practical training demonstrated by them proved a significant potential for the further development of this sport among professionals and modern youth.
A student of group 201-BP of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Mykhailo Serdiuk won a silver medal at the Ukrainian Muay Thai Boxing Championship in the weight category up to 57 kg. The athlete became the best in the youth age category and will represent our country as part of the national team at the European Thai Boxing Championship.
We sincerely congratulate the silver medallist on another sports victory! We are proud, we wish him good health, vitality, significant personal achievements in conquering new sports peaks!
It should be recalled that previously student Mykhailo Serdiuk became the champion of Muay Thai boxing among young people, the bronze medallist of the World Cup in martial arts among students and the champion of the European Universities Games – 2022.
Recently, Polytechnic student Volodymyr Lytvyn became the silver medallist of the Ukrainian Arm Wrestling Championship among youth, adults and veterans.
