The specialists of leading oil companies such as DTEK Oil and Gas, Kub-Gas Ltd, Denimex Workover Solutions LLC, Ukrnafta PJSC, discussed the technologies of oil and gas production in wells under high pressure.
The organizers of the event are Poltava Oil and Gas College and the Education and Research Institute of Oil and Gas (ERIOG) of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. They invited the representatives of top-management of leading oil and gas companies using the snubbing technology to share their practical experience and have a constructive discussion.
More than 80 students of ERIOG and the college, teachers and specialists of the regional petroleum industry joined the event online in Zoom.
Among the speakers were:
- the Deputy Head of the Department of Workovers and Underground Well Repairs of Kub-Gas Ltd Andrii Kucheriavyi;
- the Chief Engineer of Denimex Workover Solutions Ltd Andrii Fikert;
- the representatives of the technological center of DTEK Oil and Gas Yurii Moroz, Oleksandr Arkhipov;
- the Commander of Poltava Militarized Unit of Poltava Militarized Formation on Prevention and Liquidation of Open Oil and Gas Blowouts of Ukrnafta PJSC Oleksandr Ushchenko;
- the specialized subject teacher of Poltava Oil and Gas College of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, PhD in engineering Ivan Kostryba, who has been studying the snubbing technology for many years.
The representatives of the leading petroleum companies of the region shared their professional cases of applying the snubbing technology on practice and of using the technologies of repairing well under pressure in real conditions, of developing the oil and gas fields of Ukraine and ensuring that they meet the modern safety requirements.
The speakers recommended that the students pay more attention to the practical experience of using modern technologies, and that the university and college administration increase the amount of information on the snubbing technologies for students.
“One of the necessary conditions in training the oil and gas specialists is the participation of students and teachers in forums, conferences, scientific and practical seminars, workshops and practical classes, which are regularly held together with the leading oil and gas companies. The systemic work of the college and Poltava Polytechnic contributes to involving the future employers, gifted students, interested in working for the leading petroleum companies, in such activities,” the Deputy Director for the Scientific and Methodological Work of Poltava Oil and Gas College of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Iryna Vorontsova said.
“Such events involving the leading specialists of petroleum industry companies, the teachers and scientists of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic makes for bringing the specialized education closer to the requirements of modern production and allows to train young specialists adapted to the industry challenges,” the Head of the Commission of Mechanical Subjects of Poltava Oil and Gas College of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic Serhii Nos commented.
The forth-year students of the Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies specialization of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic Mykhailo Krukov shared his impressions, “Such seminars allow students to communicate with real practical specialists who implement modern oil and gas equipment and technologies at their companies, get new knowledge and learn their experience even during the lockdown.”
