Sports competition among the deputies of councils of all levels of the Poltava Region takes place at Polytechnic

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” hosted a sports competition among the deputies of the councils of all levels. Fans of a healthy lifestyle competed in mini-football, volleyball, table tennis, checkers and chess as well as received sets of awards and diplomas from the tournament organisers.

On June 6, the Youth and Sports Department of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, together with the territorial organisation of the All-Ukrainian sports and fitness society “Kolos” in the Poltava region and the regional organisation of the Sport and Fitness Society “Spartak”, organised and held a sports competition for the deputies of the councils of all levels of the Poltava Region at the state-of-the-art sports base of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Four teams representing Myrhorod, Lubny, Poltava and Kremenchuk districts took part in the competition.

The competition began with a solemn pledge to the National Flag of Ukraine and a tribute to the compatriots who died as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.

The participants were greeted by the guests of honour – Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Candidate of Legal Sciences Andrii Zamakhin, Deputy of the Poltava Regional Council, Head of the Standing Committee on Education, Science and Culture of the Poltava Regional Council Oleh Didenko, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, Head of the territorial organisation of the All-Ukrainian sports and fitness society “Kolos” in the Poltava region Anatolii Holovan, Head of the regional organisation of the Sport and Fitness Society “Spartak” Oleh Vlasenko, Head of the Sports Club of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in Military and Sports All-Around Nikita Solovei, who wished the teams enchanting victories in friendly confrontations and pleasant emotions from communicating with like-minded people.

“It is not the first time that we hold such sports competitions at the state-of-the-art sports facilities of a multidisciplinary classical university thanks to the support of our old friends and partners. We are sincerely grateful for your trust and for choosing the sporting venues of Poltava Polytechnic as a venue for large-scale events.

I would like to convey my sincere wishes from the Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, who pays a lot of attention to the development of pupil and student sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among all segments of the population. I wish the participants good health, sportsmanship, thirst for victory, and may the strongest win. Glory to Ukraine!” – welcomed the Head of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic.

Deputy of the Poltava Regional Council, Head of the Standing Committee on Education, Science and Culture of Poltava Regional Council Oleh Didenko wished the audience sports optimism and thirst for victory as well as expressed his sincere gratitude to the university represented by Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko for the comprehensive support of sports initiatives.

Among those who spoke at the opening ceremony was the head of the territorial organisation of the All-Ukrainian sports and fitness society “Kolos” in the Poltava region Anatolii Holovan: “We are sincerely grateful to our defenders for the opportunity to hold these competitions, and I thank each of you for your open civic position. I wish the participants victory and all Ukrainians peace and prosperity in post-war Ukraine.”

Throughout the day, the participants competed in mini-football, volleyball, table tennis, checkers and chess and won sets of awards in the above sports.

The chief referee of the competition was the head of the territorial organisation of the All-Ukrainian sports and fitness society “Kolos” in the Poltava region Anatolii Holovan. Nataliia Kifel was the chief secretary of the competition.

The panel of judges also included:

  • mini-football judge – coach of the student football team, senior teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, national category judge Oleksii Vorobiov;
  • volleyball judge – coach of the university volleyball team, senior teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Andrian Ostapov;
  • table tennis judge – coach of the table tennis team, teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Andrii Chermenskyi;
  • checkers judge – President of the Poltava Regional Checkers Federation Oleksandr Perederii;
  • chess judge – President of the Poltava Regional Chess Federation Hryhorii Shcherbov.

Based on the results of the competition, the winners were as follows:

Team competition among council deputies of all levels:

1st place – team of Myrhorod district;

2nd place – team of Lubny district;

3rd place – team of Poltava district;

4th place – team of Kremenchuk district.

Chess

Team competition:

1st place – team of Myrhorod district;

2nd place – team of Poltava district;

3rd place – team of Lubny district.

Checkers

Team competition:

1st place – team of Lubny district;

2nd place – team of Myrhorod district;

3rd place – team of Poltava district.

Table tennis

Team competition:

1st place – team of Lubny district;

2nd place – team of Kremenchuk district;

3rd place – team of Myrhorod district.

Volleyball

Team competition:

1st place – team of Myrhorod district;

2nd place – team of Poltava district;

3rd place – team of Lubny district.

Mini football

Team competition:

1st place – team of Kremenchuk district;

2nd place – team of Myrhorod district;

3rd place – team of Poltava district.

The winners were rewarded with honorary awards and certificates.

Recently, the regional stage of the All-Ukrainian children’s and youth military-patriotic game “Sokil” (“Dzhura”) was held at the Polytechnic.

Earlier, Polytechnic athletes became silver medallists of the European Football Championship, won gold and silver awards of the Ukrainian Kettlebell Lifting Championship, a student of the FPCS won a bronze award of the Ukrainian Boxing Championship, a graduate and a student of the university became gold medallists of the Ukrainian Team Athletics Championship among Adults and Youth.
