Within the framework of implementing the agreement on scientific and educational cooperation between the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and the State Audit Service of Ukraine, scientific and pedagogical employees of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation, Department of Public Management, Administration and Law, students of specialties 081 “Law”, 281 “Public Management and Administration” and 071 “Accounting and Taxation” of the Poltava Polytechnic together with representatives of the Northeast Office of the State Audit Service of Ukraine in the Poltava Region held a meeting, discussing practical cases of the State Audit Service’s professional activities along with interesting cases from everyday legal practice. The experts emphasized the importance of in-depth professional knowledge and soft skills, the features of competitive selection for the SASU in peacetime, as well as talked about the procedure for hiring personnel during wartime.
The head of the legal department, Andrii Khorishko, the chief specialist of the personnel sector, Serhii Tkach, and the chief communications and public relations specialist of the organizational work department, Larysa Pysarenko, joined the active discussion of professional competencies and employment prospects for graduates of financial and legal specialties, and provided the necessary practical advice for student youth as well as shared the professional stories of employees of the Northeast Office of the State Audit Service in Poltava Region, the vast majority of whom are graduates of Poltava Polytechnic.
In particular, Andrii Khorishko talked about the activities of the State Audit Service of Ukraine and its functions, described the main forms of control carried out by the SASU, citing interesting examples from his own practical experience and legal practice. Students were pleased to hear about the difference between revision, audit and monitoring of public procurement.
Chief specialist of the personnel sector Serhii Tkach explained how graduates of the “Law”, “Public Management and Administration”, and “Accounting and Taxation” majors are employed, emphasized the importance of higher education for SASU employees as well as highlighted that when hiring, first of all, the presence of deep professional knowledge and soft skills is assessed. The specialist described in detail the procedure for competitive selection for the State Audit Service of Ukraine in peacetime and the procedure for recruitment to the service during wartime.
Chief communications and public relations specialist of the organizational work department, a graduate of the specialty “Accounting and Audit” of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Larysa Pysarenko spoke about the availability of mentoring during the adaptation of new employees, the peculiarities of their career growth from state auditor to the chief state auditor, and also focused attention on the fact that students of the Poltava Polytechnic have the opportunity to undergo field practice in the Northeast Office of the State Audit Service of Ukraine in the Poltava region.
Teachers and practitioners discussed the advantages of training future professionals in the above-mentioned specialties at the Poltava Polytechnic, and students received highly qualified answers in the “question-answer” format.
At the end of the meeting, Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration, Associate Professor, Acting Head of the Department of Public Management, Administration and Law of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Inna Kulchii thanked the stakeholders for the interesting meeting, the valuable suggestions for improving the educational programs 081 “Law”, 281 “Public Management and Administration”, 071 “Accounting and Taxation” as well as emphasized the importance of interaction and comprehensive support of friendly relations between the Poltava Polytechnic and Northeast Office of the State Audit Service in the Poltava Region to achieve the common goal of training highly qualified specialists in the field of public administration, law, accounting and taxation.
Previously, scientists and stakeholders analyzed the professional competencies of financial specialties graduates, future financiers learned about the risks associated with the use of cryptocurrencies, future specialists got acquainted with the work of the Payer Service Center of the State Tax Service in the city of Poltava, and the marketing director of the “Debit Plus” company gave a lecture about the features of financial reporting automation.
