The contest was organized by the NGO "Modern Format" within the framework of the Information campaign on combating domestic and gender-based violence in Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions, supported by the Democracy Promotion Fund of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. The purpose of the contest is to involve artists, designers and other creative personalities in expressing their vision of domestic and gender-based violence problems and to draw public attention to the need of developing zero tolerance for domestic and gender-based violence.
To participate in the Contest, partakers must fill out an online application form to which they attach their competition work. Requirements for works submitted for the Contest:
- Posters must be sent electronically in two formats: JPEG and TIFF (CMYK – 300 pixels/inch). File size – from 3 MB to 1 GB;
- Poster size – A1 format (594 mm x 841 mm);
- Each contestant can send no more than three posters. The application form for each poster is submitted separately;
- Contestants are solely responsible for copyright compliance;
- Contest Participants give consent to the Contest Organizer for further use of the works submitted to the Contest, incl. – for the exhibition of posters, social advertising, etc.;
- The work of the Contest participants must also contain a key message that the Contest Participant wants to convey to the public. The key message can be included in the poster design itself, or be written not on the poster canvas itself, but in the Contest Application Form.
The Expert Committee of the Contest will evaluate the participants’ works according to the following criteria: relevance, motivation for action; creative approach; figurative solution to the raised problem; composition and main idea; the mastery level of the technique performance; availability of a key message. The Expert Committee of the Contest includes public figures, legal educators, specialists in the sector of combating domestic violence, designers, artists, journalists and representatives of local self-governments related to the topic of the Contest.
All contestants will receive certificates of participation. It is assumed that the works of the participants will be combined into a mobile traveling exhibition of posters "Stop Domestic and Gender-Based Violence!". The works that will win the Contest will be placed as social advertising on social networks, and the winners of the Contest will receive cash prizes:
1st place – UAH 3,000;
2nd place – UAH 2,000;
3rd place – UAH 1,000
