On August 25, Oleksii Virchenko finished with a time of 56.30 seconds in the men’s 100m butterfly, second only to Belarusian Ihar Boki. The opponent set a Paralympic record, swimming the distance in 53.80 seconds.

Our student outswam Uzbekistanian Islam Aslanov at the finish line and won the fifth medal for Ukraine at the 2021 Paralympic Games.

With such ambassadors of Poltava, the sports student fame of Ukraine is spreading around the world!” – added Larysa Onyshchuk, Acting head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, curator of the 201-FS group, in which the champion studies.
This year, during the General Assembly of the Student Sports Union of Ukraine, Rector of Poltava Polytechnic was awarded for the development of student sports in the Poltava region.
