Among the participants of the conference were the academic staff of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic and students (group 101Bp - Ruslan Bondarenko and Oleksandr Vorobiov; group 6BV - Daria Bohachonok and Aliona Shevchenko; group 201B - Ahmed Abdalla Ali; group 601mBV - Viktoriia Sytchenko, Serhii Panchenko and Serhii Zakharov).

Doctor of Engineering, Professor Valerii Novokhatnii’s report was chosen the most interesting. It was called “Comparative Analysis of Drinking Water Quality of Poltava”. In accordance with the results of the research, the scientist stated that, due to its special chemical solution, the drinking water of Poltava has certain properties, such as having little calcium and magnesium, that is why it’s recommended to regularly consume food with high content of these elements; it also is highly mineralized (that is the drinking water is a salt solution). The scientists recommend to decrease the consumption of salt in our daily diet.

The graduate student Daria Bohachonok’s report on constructions for cleaning water was chosen the best among the students’ presentations. Her academic advisor was PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor of the Department of Hydraulics, Water Supply and Water Draining Oleksandr Huzynin. The author suggests that it’s reasonable to use chloride dioxide as a primary solution for water disinfection, and sodium hydrochloride as the secondary, instead of chlorine. The advantage of the dioxide is that it is able to kill viruses.
