As part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and Wellsite Digital, students of oil and gas specialties of the university are improving their practical skills on the unique equipment of the partner company.
This cooperation strengthens the powerful synergistic effect in the field of high-quality graduates’ practical training and opens up wide opportunities for students and academic staff to learn on the only modern drilling simulators in Ukraine. The acquired practical cases allow for comprehensive training and improvement of professional competences.
On 3 April, the fourth-year students of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of Poltava Polytechnic were given a practical lesson on “Controlling the parameters and changing the operating modes of a coiled tubing unit” at the Wellsite Digital training centre.
During the practical training, the future professionals got acquainted with the structure and equipment of the fleet for downhole operations using a coiled tubing unit. The sophistication and modernity of the training equipment enables young people to master not only theoretical material but also to gain vast practical experience.
Also, students of Poltava Polytechnic had a unique opportunity to learn the basic methods of controlling the functionality of a modern coiled tubing unit on their own experience.
During the class, the students successfully launched and switched on the coiled tubing and nitrogen units, as well as simulated basic technological operations.
Thanks to the fruitful cooperation of Poltava Polytechnic with powerful business companies, the university has created comfortable conditions for modern students to acquire the necessary professional competences, and the graduates are in demand in the modern labour market.
Recently, future specialists have been studying drilling mud techniques at the university’s drilling fluids laboratory, five students of Polytechnic have been awarded scholarships from Ukrnafta, and students of Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute visited Poltava Polytechnic.
