National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” actively develops international cooperation, raising the quality standards of higher education and opening new opportunities for students.

During his working visit to Poland, Acting Rector of Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko met with Rector of AGH University of Science and Technology (Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica), a partner university of Poltava Polytechnic, one of the three best universities in Poland (TOP-3 according to the national ranking of Poland), Professor Jerzy Lis.

During the meeting, the heads of the higher education institutions signed an agreement on the implementation of the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme for students and scientists from countries not involved in the Ukrainian-Polish partnership.

They also discussed the next stages of the implementation of the joint double degree programme, which will allow students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” to gain European experience and open new perspectives in the labour market thanks to the previously reached agreements.

The double degree programme is open to students of the second (master’s) degree programme of Poltava Polytechnic who are studying in the following specialities:

  • 073 Management
  • 183 Environmental Protection
  • 184 Mining
  • 185 Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology

“Poltava Polytechnic, being one of the best classical universities in Ukraine, has a huge experience of fruitful educational and scientific cooperation with Ukrainian and foreign universities, state scientific institutions, organisations, and business structures. The signing of this agreement with AGH University of Science and Technology in 2022 was aimed at opening new opportunities in Europe for talented students to increase their professional potential, since now, more than ever, our country needs young, ambitious, highly educated and responsible specialists who will use their knowledge to rebuild Ukraine, build energy independence, economic development and integrate Ukraine into the European space,” – said Acting Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

AGH University of Science and Technology has always been committed to international integration and knowledge exchange, and we see great potential in this cooperation. The double degree programme that we are implementing together will provide students with a unique opportunity to obtain a high-quality higher education in both countries, which will contribute to their professional growth.

We are confident that our joint efforts will allow us to train specialists who will play an important role in the reconstruction and development of Ukraine, as well as in the integration of the Ukrainian educational system into the European space. Together we will achieve significant results,” – noted the Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology, Professor Jerzy Lis.

It should be recalled that Honorary Professor of Bialystok University of Technology Volodymyr Onyshchenko congratulated his colleagues on the beginning of the new academic year, students of Poltava Polytechnic have the opportunity to study under the Erasmus+ programme at a leading Austrian partner university, a university scientist took part in a large-scale EAIE event in Toulouse, and the cooperation between Poltava Polytechnic and the EU Advisory Mission for Ukraine (EUAM) continues!
